Settle a debate for me Grin If you are eating peanut butter on toast do you butter the toast first? I don't because it seems like too much fat but DP does and calls me weird.
YABU - Toast, butter and peanut butter
YANBU - toast and peanut butter doesn't require extra

Yanbu! That's how I always do my sandwiches ;)

YABU. Your DH may need a new wife. Sorry. Grin

shouldistop · 02/04/2021 14:37

It's so much better with butter first

DoveGreylove · 02/04/2021 14:37

YABU - butter softens the toast up and then the peanut butter is for extra flavour and crunch!

RavingAnnie · 02/04/2021 14:38

YABU butter is amazing and makes everything better. Plus peanut butter is dry and toast is dry so the butter provides some much needed moisture.

MrsGradyOldLady · 02/04/2021 14:40

YABU and also it has to be Lurpak spread so thick the toast can take no more

EggysMom · 02/04/2021 14:40

I'm never understood using butter when using peanut butter. It makes the sandwich/toast way too slimy for my liking.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 02/04/2021 14:41

YABU. If you don't add butter, the peanut butter just sticks to the roof of your mouth!

Tartyflette · 02/04/2021 14:42

Two 'butters' plus honey. Just saying.

MammaMiaWallace · 02/04/2021 14:42

It tastes better with butter, but the butter is also unnecessary- so you’re both NBU

Mydogisagentleman · 02/04/2021 14:42

YANBU, but some sliced ripe banana elevates it

LawnFever · 02/04/2021 14:43

Butter first or it’s far too dry!

Anordinarymum · 02/04/2021 14:43

Oh...... it has to be nice bread for starters and then Lurpak spread thickly followed by the peanut butter which has to be also spread thickly. Yum

Matildatoldsuchdreadfullies · 02/04/2021 14:44

Butter (thick), peanut butter (thin), then generous sprinkling of salt.

shouldistop · 02/04/2021 14:44

Bagel with butter then cream cheese is also lovely.

Roselilly36 · 02/04/2021 14:44

Yep, peanut butter only for me too, DH thinks I am weird, he likes butter & peanut butter.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 02/04/2021 14:44

It needs butter. You need to hot butter the toast (or crumpet!) first and then add the PB.

DarkishBlue · 02/04/2021 14:45

I don't have butter but it's only because of calories. I would if I was slim.

grafittiartist · 02/04/2021 14:47

YANBU
No butter needed!

QuentinWinters · 02/04/2021 14:47

Very diplomatic Grin

I've only had PB toast with PB only.
At one point in my life I would have absolutely refused to even consider buttering it first, but I wouldn't be opposed to trying it now, just to see.

PB toast with maple syrup is really good, btw.
Sometimes I mix the peanut butter with the maple syrup, then spread it on.
Hey - that might be good with buttering it first! Grin

LaceyBetty · 02/04/2021 14:51

I never put butter on first. My son sometimes does, so I don't think it's weird to do so.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 02/04/2021 14:51

Butter with salt crystals first, then peanut butter.

You can thank me later.

GraduallyWatermelon · 02/04/2021 14:53

Honestly can't stomach it at all without butter - the toast is too dry and the peanut butter all claggy. Only a tiny bit of butter! I do have it on wholemeal though...
