Peanut butter and butter on toast is wrong

Settle a debate for me If you are eating peanut butter on toast do you butter the toast first? I don't because it seems like too much fat but DP does and calls me weird.
YABU - Toast, butter and peanut butter
YANBU - toast and peanut butter doesn't require extra

Then put jam.and cheese on it 😍

Oh god me and dh have this argument all the time! Or course you don't but butter on as well, peanut BUTTER is the butter.

No, peanut butter isn't a butter replacement. It's only called butter due to it's almost butter-like consistency, there's no dairy in it at all.

I don't like butter at all. Just peanut butter on my toast for me.

The only time I but butter on toast is if I'm having toast and butter. Anything else on toast goes on as it is. So if it's jam, just put jam on toast, not butter first. I've never understood this.

It's called peanut butter because it's a type of butter! Therefore no additional butter is necessary.

However this rule conflicts directly with another food rule, which is that any food can be improved by a factor of 100 by slathering it in extra butter.

So I'm on the fence here

If you want to be a heathen then I’ll concede to butter followed by peanut butter. However, if you really want to live it up then.....Nutella followed by crunchy peanut butter on seeded toast is amazing! 😂😂

Also I have been known to have double butter on toast. 1 thick layer when toast is hot, to melt in. Then cold salty layer two to sit on top.

You need a scraping of butter otherwise it's just too dry. My DH has butter with chocolate spread and that feels wrong to me.

Have never had peanut butter on toast but sometimes have pate on toast. I also don't butter it as I think there's enough fat never mind calories. Mind you you wouldn't think it by the amount of pate that I slather on Also the same with beans on toast I don't bother with butter.
