Peanut butter and butter on toast is wrong

Settle a debate for me If you are eating peanut butter on toast do you butter the toast first? I don't because it seems like too much fat but DP does and calls me weird.
YABU - Toast, butter and peanut butter
YANBU - toast and peanut butter doesn't require extra

I am very surprised about the sandwich spread and peanut butter! Marmite and peanut butter i know all about, yum
DS favourite is a waffle with peanut butter, sliced banana, caramel sauce, chocolate spread and cream

Peanut butter and anything is wrong.

I either have butter and peanut butter or peanut butter and strawberry jam. Never just peanut butter.

I have peanut butter and lemon curd! No butter needed.

Ds1 introduced me to peanut butter and jam. Very American. With buttered toast to start though!

Even better is toast with peanut butter, and then butter on the top of the peanut butter! There used to be a song about this when I was a kid.

I am genuinely shocked (which is rare).

YABU butter is amazing and makes everything better. Plus peanut butter is dry and toast is dry so the butter provides some much needed moisture.

You need better PB, Pic’s is my absolute favourite.

Peanut butter and butter is probably too much fat but it is definitely better, which is more important.

The more butter the better in almost every scenario really.

YABU- the butter melts and makes the peanut butter 100x better.

My DH makes it like you- would you like to swap?

I need to lay the butter on with a trowel and then add the peanut butter, also laid on with a trowel so nice and thick.

I think butter first is delicious and ultimately you use less peanut butter that way as it spreads easier. So it probably doesn’t work out way too different in terms of calories.

YABVU you need butter to melt into the toast first or it’s hardly edible!

I used to think like you til I read a thread on here about how it’s so much nicer with butter so I tried it and THEY WERE RIGHT. Couldn’t eat it without butter now, it’s so claggy

YANBU butter before peanut butter is disgusting.

May I suggest adding cheddar cheese on top of the extra nutty peanut butter. My absolute favourite snack.

I used to have it without butter.. Then one day my OH made it for me with butter and I’ve never looked back. Even have a big old slather of jam on the top now too. What next.....? Not sure I can handle marmite (have that with my butter and Philadelphia on toast).
