To throw away this painting - with pic

Bought a lovely Victorian flat with my partner however the previous occupant left this truly awful painting. Am I being unreasonable to just throw it away? Partner seems to think we could sell it! I just want it gone as it’s giving me nightmares just looking at it.

I don't like the picture but if it was sold with the property, it is yours so might be worth trying to get a few bob for it.

I just don’t understand why on earth this was left behind! Just why!! It’s worse in person as it’s quite a big painting and the mouth on it is just ugh!
It looks vaguely familiar

Like from the TV or something.

Honestly, i'd burn it. It might sell but I wouldn't want it hanging around.

Or take it to the dump if you can.

Don’t mock — some 16-year-old poured their heart and soul into that painting!
I’d offer it on Freecycle or Nextdoor, then to a charity shop.

Lol, it's not creepy so much as just shit! It looks like the kind of thing some dramatic 'I am so deeeeep' goth teen would choose, all the while looking at you desperate for you to comment on how creepy it is and how unusual and strange they are for liking it Grin

The subject matter is silly, it's not particularly good. Charity shop!

A few years ago I inherited a ghastly painting.

I was persuaded to take it to an auction house, & it sold for £800.
No accounting for taste.
