To ask which comedians you think are hot?

Right, it's 2 in the morning, I've drank too much coffee in a bid to stay up and finish this essay, and I cannot stop thinking about the Richard Osman sex dream thread from the other day.
Richard is not my type despite the very large hands but it has got me thinking about comedy-adjacent people who I think are Quite Fit, and I need to know I'm not alone.

My picks:

 • Richard Ayoade - awkward and funny and lovely and hot
 • James Acaster - exactly the same reasons (I have a type Blush)
 • Mike Wozniak - I was lucky enough to go to the Taskmaster recordings in October and after seeing him on there I've secretly thought of him as quite attractive. Think it's the moustache, but I'm usually anti-facial hair so I'm not quite sure where that's come from...

Please entertain me during my coffee-fuelled mania by telling me your comedy crushes. I can't be the only one can I?

I end up fancying all men I find funny. James acaster yes definitely and Ed gamble but only because he looks like an ex boyfriend.
Wouldn't say no to Lee Mack.

John Robins - we're the same age and so have similar cultural references. When he talks about his younger years he reminds me so much of boys I used to date in my 20s. I find him irritating but attractive at the same time. I became a bit obsessed with his podcasts in lockdown 1.
Rob delaney - he's more stereotypically hot. Totally my cup of tea.
Adam Buxton - I'd like to marry

Paul Chowdhry is a fairly recent one. Looks like he's really going through it at the moment having just lost his mum :(

James Acaster even though he typically isn't my type, there's something about him.

Greg Davies even though he's old enough to be my father.

Same for Rhod Gilbert.

I thought he lost his mum when he was 5.

@ChickenSoupForTheHmm yes! I have soft spot for Stephen Maghan. He has a naughty glint.
Also understand Reece Shearsmith love.

Washimal · 01/03/2021 10:00

I don’t like James Acaster after he trashed Rose Matefeo in his book. He strikes me as a typical Nice Guy.

I wouldn't say he trashed her at all, but I do think he came off as pretty self-involved. I heard an interview with Rose Matefeo not long ago and although where she was asked about it. Although she was clearly trying hard to be gracious, it was obvious that it was really hard for her having that experience (with no genuine attempt to conceal her identity) laid bare, but only from his perspective, in his book and his stand up tour. He was already by far the more established and successful comedian, but he has done very well professionally out of their breakup and seems to have the whole world feeling sorry for him. I'm sure he was heartbroken at the time but there are two sides.

catlitterinmyturnups · 01/03/2021 12:18

He lost his biological mum when he was a young child. Dad obviously remarried and from Paul's SM, he regarded this woman as a second mum.

I see, thanks for that.
I knew I'd read recently about his mum dying at 5 and how it left him. I didn't know about his SM.
@mumtoboyscanterbury annoyingly no I can’t! Someone else asked up thread and I’ve spent most of today in between Zooms skipping through back to September on 1.5 x speed trying to find it.
@negnog did you have any luck? Thank you for trying, I’m so intrigued as to what she said. I listened to a previous podcast of hers when she said she quit Mock the Week as she felt as a women she was talking other women’s spots, and specifically said ‘I’m never taking James Acaster’s or Ed Gamble’s spot’. It was just an example but it made a good spot.

Having said that, Ed Gamble is definitely my answer Grin

PPCD · 04/04/2021 21:17

Ben Willbond

Vindicated2021 · 04/04/2021 21:27

Greg Davies........🤭

I would also like a girls night out with Roisin Conaty (think that's the spelling) that girl makes me cry with laughter.

Miniwinnie · 04/04/2021 21:30

John bishop 😆

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 04/04/2021 21:35

Phil Wang. Oh yes.

mrwalkensir · 04/04/2021 21:53

Lanky is important - Ryan Stiles, James Acaster and Chris Addison when he was in Lab Rats. Kevin Bridges comes across as very lovely

tooto · 05/04/2021 00:11

Nobody has mentioned Alex Horne that I can see... just me then?! After several seasons of Taskmaster I find him hilarious. I have added Mike Wozniak to the list as he has made me laugh the most out of any of the TM shows!

I like Jack Whitehall too, though I find him less amusing and more generally attractive!

Bamargera17 · 05/04/2021 00:46

Miles Joop

PferdeMerde · 05/04/2021 00:53

Shit I thought Mike Wozniak was from monsters inc.
