of people and why? I'll start by saying as a brit I just love the Aussies for their chilled out nature and dry, self depreciating humour.

Filipinos are good natured, friendly and incredibly resilient. I loved living there.

SpiderGwen · 11/02/2021 16:11

The French, for their commitment to cheese.

Well I'm Irish so obviously my favourite nation is Ireland.

Atalune · 11/02/2021 16:18

Japan- love so many aspects of the shared thinking and group cohesion. Being part of the group and being harmonious is more important than the individual.

It’s a very safe place to be.

There are negatives too, but I love Japan and miss it very much.

NuniaBeeswax · 11/02/2021 16:18

This is going to go well.

Toss up between France and Spain.

Literallynoidea · 11/02/2021 16:26

England. I love the English sense of humour and tolerance. And if you don't agree, try living elsewhere.

Tehmina23 · 11/02/2021 16:29

Greece - very welcoming people (unless you're Turkish obviously), decent food, great weather, culture & history.

JRUIN · 11/02/2021 16:32

This is going to go well.

It does actually have the potential to be a nice thread, if only the twats keep off it. Smile

I loved living in Australia but aussies were faaaaaar from self-deprecating IME! The boasting took quite some getting used too. Still a brilliant place though and would love to move back.

What is good about Tim Hortons? They have a few branches in the city I live in but I've never been in one. Is it a coffee shop like Starbucks?
Sciics · 11/02/2021 16:35

Norway. I know many Norwegians and I would describe them all as level-headed, sensible, fun, and positive people. My best friend is Norwegian.
It is weird when you go to a restaurant there and the customer service experience is so different. You’re expected to ask if you want anything, people don’t come up to you constantly checking if you need anything, you have to go to the bar. Thinking about it though, I think I prefer it that way, as you’re left with no interruptions and that can be quite nice.
Their society is so much more progressive than ours and their values are similar mine. They treat everyone the same and don’t really have a social hierarchy. I wish I could move to Norway and experience the lifestyle and all the fun outdoors but I just can’t cope with the cold.

Nation or culture or country? I love Italy the food, the climate , the countryside and the history. Ive also met some lovely passionate friendly warm Italian people..... I also love how well family/ children are treated. Not sure if I have a favourite "nation" though as in any country there are some great people ( and a small minority of complete fuckwits).

JRUIN · 11/02/2021 16:39

I'm a twat though.

Lol see I like you already! [grin}

I have lived there too and agree. The first time I heard somebody boasting about their wealth I was really taken aback.
