of people and why? I'll start by saying as a brit I just love the Aussies for their chilled out nature and dry, self depreciating humour.

@SpiderGwen

The French, for their commitment to cheese.
A great choice for a great reason!
TheCatThatGotTheCream · 11/02/2021 16:43

Vietnam, I just loved it, can't quite put my finger on what I loved, I just did.

DaylightSunlight · 11/02/2021 16:47

@JRUIN

It would be interesting to know what nationality you posters are Smile
You mean "you Twats"? Grin

I have dual nationality but don't think one of them is ever going to be mentioned here so I'll just stick to saying 'that one and England' and keep it moving. I hope the thread goes well though.

Don't be a twat! Don't be a twat!

Pumpkinstace · 11/02/2021 16:48

Norway
Iceland

@FelicityPike

Frasier the Mountie.

Rewatching this on the Sony channel has been lovely.

Thank you kindly.

MiniTheMinx · 11/02/2021 16:58

Don't have a favourite. It would have to be between Finland and Egypt.

Egypt for the dry heat. Finland for the fact that Fins are polite, but taciturn, unemotional and rational. Honest, don't waste words, practical and calm but quietly very funny. They aren't apt to grab you and try kissing you. There is a complete absence of superficial social niceties and no hierarchy of class.

Londonmummy66 · 11/02/2021 17:00

Wales - lovely friendly people who can sing and the home of that little bit of deliciousness that is the Welsh cake.

DaylightSunlight · 11/02/2021 17:01

My answer (2nd paragraph) was to your OP actually but it can also be for the post I quoted - 'That one and British'.

Daphnise · 11/02/2021 17:02

Britain, Ireland or Australia.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/02/2021 17:04

The Dutch always seem lovely. Never met a Dutch person who wasn’t lovely and friendly.

GertrudePerkinsPaperyThing · 11/02/2021 17:05

Oh yes I love Wales and the Welsh too!

hansgrueber · 11/02/2021 17:05

@Literallynoidea

England. I love the English sense of humour and tolerance. And if you don't agree, try living elsewhere.
That's the problem a lot of people will be basing their choice on either people they've met on holiday or what they've seen on TV, few will have lived in the other country they are picking.
Sheleg · 11/02/2021 17:06

China.

I lived there for 10 years. I bloody love the Chinese.

OhWhyNot · 11/02/2021 17:21

I loved living in Australia but aussies were faaaaaar from self-deprecating IME! The boasting took quite some getting used too

I loved Australia. But I found them to be the most patriotic nation I’ve visited I was surprised. And I’ve spent a lot of time in America but I love the laid back culture

I’ve always found people in North Africa and Middle East to be beyond generous I love their open no holding back curiosity. The same in Sri Lanka and Vietnam and how resourceful the Thai culture is often seems so disorganised but runs to perfection And nothing is too much trouble

JRUIN · 11/02/2021 17:23

Haha I am also of dual nationality I suppose as my mum was Italian and my dad half Irish. What I love most about the Italians is their absolute love and adoration of children and I love the Irish because they are always up for a good piss up. I have inheritated both these traits, but I have also inheritated some of their bad traits, which I won't mention on here because I'm trying hard not to be a twat Grin

Mexico. Love my Mexican family, the language, the landscapes, scenery and climate, the food, the crafts, culture and music. That's all about it though Grin

NeedToKnow101 · 11/02/2021 17:25

I was going to say the Ranganation first though.

WomenAreBornNotWorn · 11/02/2021 17:30

Argentina. Beautiful country with snow covered mountains and sunny beaches. Really lovely friendy people,family orientated and very loyal to their country despite their grabby government.

JRUIN · 11/02/2021 17:34

You twats people are educating me and making me dream of being able to travel more Smile

LucasLeesEyebrows · 11/02/2021 17:38

The Irish. I love how you can go out for a quiet drink and the next thing you know you’re at your new best friend’s wedding until 5 in the morning.

I also love American East Coasters. Very dry witted people.

HitchFlix · 11/02/2021 17:40

I've never been to Estonia but I've never met an Estonian I didn't like!

RealisticSketch · 11/02/2021 17:41

Love Germany for things being well organised, the country does what it says on the tin, and the wealth of the nation doesn't all come from big corporates, it's the land of the family enterprise. Social hierarchy much flatter than the UK too, more equality. I like the fact it takes ages to get to know them but a friend made is a friend for life.

JollyGreenGiantess · 11/02/2021 17:41

Canada! The hockey. Snow. Ice. Tim Hortons. The hockey. Lord Stanley’s Cup. Anne of Green Gables. Frasier the Mountie.
Are you me 😂

strawberriesontheNeva · 11/02/2021 17:45

Umm I'm
Not fussed 😂

Alocasia · 11/02/2021 17:54

If we are talking about the people then Taiwan is the best, everyone I encountered was so kind and friendly. In terms of countries I would add Singapore, Finland and Poland to my personal favourites.
