AIBU to think women should not be banned from Social media for asking the question - Thread 2

Many women have been suspended from sm for asking the question:
“Do you believe that male sexed people should be allowed access to changing rooms and showers for female sexed people and teenagers?”
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question which we should be allowed to ask.

@BarbaraofKent

Did someone call? Grin

BarbaraofKent · 29/01/2021 15:38

Semantics.

😂

Would you say that to someone having any other kind of reconstruction? Of course you bloody wouldn't.

Could you give an example of another type of reconstruction you mean?

Do you honestly think that if a man has breast implants then that changes his sex and makes him a woman? Or even if you has his penis removed (pretty rare these days but anyway?) Is that what a woman is? A man without a penis?

Impatiens · 29/01/2021 15:38

So now you want to invalidate their physical appearance as well as their feelings

Dishonest and manipulative.

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:39

@DialSquare

So are the trans people that agree that people can not change sex and do not deny their biological sex, also denying the existence of Trans people?
Yes I would say they are invalidating other people's experiences. Because trans people are not a species.

They are people with views.

DialSquare · 29/01/2021 15:39

I'm here all week

I hope not. I'm bored with you already.

You do like that word dishonest.
Datun · 29/01/2021 15:39

I was just about to say that posters who truly believe the ideology are fairly useful, as it exposes all the flaws and misogyny in the ideology, for those who haven't yet seen them.

And then there are just daft attention seekers who ruin it all by jumping the shark so spectacularly, people just disregard everything they say.

Shock.

If only id have come on to cheer you all on, I'd be in the gang. Gutted.

DialSquare · 29/01/2021 15:40

You are invalidating other people experiences too. We are people with views.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:40

People don't have to accept that someone who says they 'feel like a woman' is stating a provable truth in order to know that trans people exist.

Yes, it's like saying I think Christians don't exist because I don't believe in God.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2021 15:41

So now you want to invalidate their physical appearance as well as their feelings.

No, I've no idea how you inferred that. I'm happy for anyone to do what the heck they want with their physical appearance. Are you saying that sex is nothing more than someone's appearance?Confused(i don't believe that can be what you mean but I can't figure out what else your response is about)

And 'changing rooms' is, as I'm sure you're well aware, a tiny part of what's at stake. Hmm

DialSquare · 29/01/2021 15:41

We don't need cheerleaders. Just coherent arguments.

BarbaraofKent · 29/01/2021 15:41

Yes, it's like saying I think Christians don't exist because I don't believe in God.

Exactly!

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:42

@DialSquare

You are invalidating other people experiences too. We are people with views.
But you are not trans.

I have not once invalidated your experiences as a woman because I don't necessarily disagree with the changing rooms argument.

The trans denying is the one and only thing I have the issue with, I see it as phobic as towards any other group and is my reasoning for agreeing with the topic not to be discussed which was what brought me here.

ErrolTheDragon · 29/01/2021 15:42

They. Are. Trans.

Yes. Which means....

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:42

@BarbaraofKent

Yes, it's like saying I think Christians don't exist because I don't believe in God.

Exactly!

No. That's not the same at all and that's an offensive comparison.
RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:43

@ErrolTheDragon

They. Are. Trans.

Yes. Which means....

Irrelevant.

I was correcting the use of feel like trans.

midgedude · 29/01/2021 15:43

I am denying the existence of anyone who has changed sex but since no one has , I am denying the existence of no one

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:44

Yet each end every discussion focuses on the changing rooms.

I'm inferring that wth your clever semantics in relation to a sex change, you are undermining what this means to people.

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:45

@midgedude

I am denying the existence of anyone who has changed sex but since no one has , I am denying the existence of no one
Hmm
Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:45

This dull schtick grew old half an hour ago.

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:45

@DialSquare

Ah yes because people would be so willing to be open to that.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:46

No. That's not the same at all and that's an offensive comparison.

No.

DialSquare · 29/01/2021 15:46

You know nothing about me do please don't presume that you do.

How many times do you need to be told that no one here is denying the existence of Trans people. Trans people should not be discriminated against for jobs housing etc and should not be abused for being Trans. Humans can not change sex no matter how much someone may want to and safeguarding should not go out of the window because someone is Trans.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:47

Ah yes because people would be so willing to be open to that.

Gwan gwan, why not give it a try, rather than scoring points?
