AIBU to think women should not be banned from Social media for asking the question - Thread 2

Many women have been suspended from sm for asking the question:
“Do you believe that male sexed people should be allowed access to changing rooms and showers for female sexed people and teenagers?”
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question which we should be allowed to ask.

Let’s vote with our AIBU. Smile

It was a key point on the other thread I hope I don't get deleted . Thanks fir the warning its difficult to discuss when the facts have ti he withheld.

StealthPolarBear · 27/01/2021 21:53

Was it a male or a female penis (or a penis of another gender)

Souther · 27/01/2021 21:54

@Quaagars

Ithink this one could be misread as if the poll is asking the question rather than should we be allowed to ask it if that makes sense?

It is clear?
It's the question that was asked in the last one.
In what sense can it be misread - it clearly says “Do you believe that male sexed people should be allowed access to changing rooms and showers for female sexed people and teenagers?”
Or is it because it keeps nearing a 50 50 split, comes across a bit Trump, as in "it's a fix!" lol

I think the thread is u clear. I've answered the question in tour title. But the post above states we should be answering the question in the op. You didnt actually say we needed to answer the question that you presented in the op.

Eh? The AIBU is ‘AIBU to think women should not be banned for asking the question?’...

@Impatiens

I think to be scrupulously honest it should be pointed out that Helen repeatedly used the word 'penis' in her twitter posts and this seemed to really inflame the trans activists.
But that is a hard fact (pun intended). People are entitled to their opinions but they are NOT entitled to their facts and most definitely NOT entitled to a YES when a woman says NO.

It was an achilles penis as far as twitter was concerned.

(are we allowed to talk this much about the peen word?? Shock)

Love a pun meself, lol.

Yes, it is a fact but, as we discovered on the other thread, many people who say YABU to the Q aren't aware how many transwomen still have a their male genitals.

Although Helen staniland did get a short ban when she first asked the question as I remember it started trending (about 2 weeks ago)
This ban was because she got into a spat with a TRA and as you say, kept using the word penis.

For those of you unfamiliar with TRA ideology. They believe that a penis attached to a transwoman is now a lady penis or ladydick, as shown in the often used Twitter phrase. ‘Terfs can suck my ladydick’

Campervan69 · 27/01/2021 22:04

A lady penis 😆😅 what a time to be alive

Quaagars · 27/01/2021 22:06

The question is in the OP and is clearly not IN ANY WAY 'hate speech'.
Ah i see, yes the question didn't mention hate speech in any way
What it's referring to is though
From what I understand it's because a couple of GC voices have been kicked off Twitter?
Nothing to do with whether they're a woman or not.
Men can and do get kicked off too when they do the same.

@Idratherberude

Sorry for having the last post on the other thread, and thank you for creating a new one Smile

That was a stellar final post!

Thewithesarehere · 27/01/2021 22:09

So even you say that the question in OP isn’t hate speech @Quaagars.
So why did Twitter ban women asking perfectly fine questions?

No - since you insist on this dishonest wordplay I'll explain again. The question ITSELF is not hate speech.

What it's referring to is NOT hate speech, it's a perfectly valid question to ask. How is it hate speech? Because it might mean that female-only facilities can't be accessed by males? Since when is that 'hate' ffs?

There's a YouGov poll that trans activists often bring up which appears to show that a majority of Women are in favour of transwomen having access to female-only facilities.

However, they never include the part where the question is asked in more detail, explaining that many transwomen still have their male genitals, and the number of Women in favour drops like a stone.

Helen has been asking the same question for a very long time. But yes, she did get a temporary ban recently. And a whole lot of sexual harassment very recently. Strangely, I had reported a couple before she was banned and they were found for hateful conduct towards Helen. But she got the ban!!!!

The vote currently stands at ~90%. Smile

To be clear though OP, Helen did use the word ‘male with a penis’ to make sure that people knew what they were answering.

And yeah, the peen got many people hot and bothered that a woman dared asked that question.

Quaagars · 27/01/2021 22:44

Context.
Which isn't always shown on here.

Winesalot · 27/01/2021 22:47

Over the years they have been told repeatedly where they are factually wrong or have not understood basic risk or safeguarding concepts yet they pretend that people have said the opposite.

It is a habit that is easily noticed once you start posting or reading regularly. Never any substance, ever.
