AIBU to think women should not be banned from Social media for asking the question - Thread 2

Many women have been suspended from sm for asking the question:
“Do you believe that male sexed people should be allowed access to changing rooms and showers for female sexed people and teenagers?”
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question which we should be allowed to ask.

Let’s vote with our AIBU. Smile

No. I explained why I wasn't going to do that earlier.

Shocker -opens eyes widely-

No. I explained why I wasn't going to do that earlier.

Always the same - there's not point, it's a waste of time engaging blah blah blah. So what I'm going to do instead is keep calling you transphobic and faux wide eyed in the hope that your lady doubt kicks in to compensate for the fact that I don't have a coherent argument on this.

Seen it all before hun... Next!

The fact you have seen it all before...if people repeatedly didn't want to engage with me on a topic, I wouldn't immediately think oh it must be because I'm so clever and brilliant and they're so stupid.

I'm not that arrogant.

Winesalot · 29/01/2021 15:23

Sorry, I was going to respond to the first ridiculous post but literally spluttered on the bit about men becoming women to access your toilets

WTF? My first 'ridiculous' post to you barely even asked the question about toilets. In fact, I don't think I even mentioned toilets. You still called it 'utterly bizarre' and refused to engage. Simply name called.

Do you genuinely believe that's why men transition?

No. There are many reasons men transition.

However, if you truly think that under self id (and some organisations have wrongly adopted a pseudo self id approach already) a man even has to 'transition' to be able to access single sex spaces for females, you perhaps need to do some research. And research just how far abusers throughout recent history , and note here that this whole paragraph is not even talking about transwomen, will go to access their goal.

You must really think you are all something special.

No. I think that I am women fighting to maintain women's rights. I do not believe it is all about toilets, but toilets is one small area of a very much larger impact in general.

I was just thinking the same!

Also, I'd forgotten I needed to order some Root touch up and I've just been reminded so that was helpful.

Jetatyeovilaerodrome · 29/01/2021 15:25

Denying that trans exists is transphobic.

What do you mean by 'denying trans exists'?

If you mean 'denying that some people have gender dysphoria and feel more comfortable presenting according to stereotypes normally associated with the opposite sex' then you won't find anyone doing that here anyway.

If you mean 'denying that men can become women and actually change sex' then I think you will find that an awful lot of people think that!

And if you don't then I would like to see your evidence to show that humans can change sex and at what exact point men become women. Thanks!

Good that no one is doing that then?

Fighting ? Or riding rough shod? Who are you fighting against?

Your bottom paragraph- how many abusers do you think go into women's toilets, in comparison to...their own homes? Do only men abuse ?

Have you read the thread? Telling a man he could not possibly know what it feels like to be a woman is denying trans.
Impatiens · 29/01/2021 15:26

@RootyT00t

I'm not representing any group. I'm not that arrogant - But you used the words 'we' and 'us' so who are you speaking for?

But I'm also sure even if you are not entitled enough to think I'm the only person in the world who thinks some of these posts are transphobic. - I don't understand this wording?

Righto on the dishonest and wrong bit. You agree that your methods are dishonest and wrong. That's a breakthrough!

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:27

Er, no. I am fully aware of the existence of people who feel they are the opposite sex. Not "denying" that.

You're wasted on here.

There will be hundreds of sex change operations taking place you need to make sure those silly doctors understand that's not a thing!

Maybe lots of people think this...on here. On a board.

In the same way that I'm sure I could equally find thousands of people who are phobic or bigoted towards any group.

RootyT00t · 29/01/2021 15:29

@midgedude

Denying trans existence isn't what anyone has done though

It's just we think transperson are not woman

We see them as they are and wish they could be proud and happy like that , we wish society could adapt to make their lives easier

However when they insist that we have to drop our knickers in front of them in the ladies changing room, no .

How often does this happen? Daily?,

Feel they are.

I am supportive of people who feel they are gay.

Still OK?

Impatiens · 29/01/2021 15:30

Telling a man he could not possibly know what it feels like to be a woman is denying trans.

Please explain how a man can know what it feels like to be a woman. How? How can a woman know what it feels like to be a man? It's nonsensical.

The only way to be a woman is to be female, so it isn't possible for a man to know that what they're feeling is feeling like a woman.

Jetatyeovilaerodrome · 29/01/2021 15:30

Have you read the thread? Telling a man he could not possibly know what it feels like to be a woman is denying trans.

No its not. I believe there are men who feel like women and are more comfortable presenting in a way that they (as a male) perceive 'womanhood' to be. Of course there are.

I don't think a male can ever know what it is to be female, because he isn't one. You can't know what it's like to feel like something you are not.

There is a very important difference there.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/01/2021 15:31

Being gay just means being attracted to the same sex. It doesn't require me to believe the impossible.
