AIBU to think women should not be banned from Social media for asking the question

Angryresister · 27/01/2021 09:13

Many women have been suspended from sm for asking the question:
“Do you believe that male sexed people should be allowed access to changing rooms and showers for female sexed people and teenagers?”
Seems like a perfectly reasonable question which we should be allowed to ask

and were a very effeminate boy.

And this is where the whole thing starts. What on earth is an 'effeminate boy'?

LowlandLucky · 27/01/2021 17:25

dadshere Yes you can tell

Whatwouldscullydo · 27/01/2021 17:25

Being gay is completely different to being trans.

In fact stonewall have re defined homosexual as same gender attraction so same sex attraction no longer exists.

Gay people didn't expect anyone else to pretend they were straight and re define straight people as "cis-straight" and deny reality.

littlbrowndog · 27/01/2021 17:26

@lifeturnsonadime

I said it before and I'll say it again but this issue goes beyond who gets to go in which toilets.

It is really important to be able to define the word woman in a meaningful way if it now must encompass more than people with 2 x chromosomes, which we are being told , with no debate, that it must.

If women are no longer just people with 2 X chromosomes then what are they and why? My entire belief system has been based on this biological belief, I deserve to understand what I must accept as an alternative, and why.

Because the definition of women is important.

To the heart of it
cheeseismydownfall · 27/01/2021 17:26

oh my fucking god i literally cannot take any more of this

MEN ARE NOT WOMEN! MEN CANNOT EVER BECOME WOMEN!!! WOMEN IS A TERM THAT IS ALREADY TAKEN, AND IT MEANS FEMALE, THE LITERAL OPPOSITE OF MALE!!!

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

It's all about banging on against transwomen and bandying around pseudoscience to justfy bigotry.

Can you point out where 'pseudoscience' has been used @toconclude?

Glinner · 27/01/2021 17:27

Saw this thread on Twitter which gave me hope twitter.com/MissAnthrope18/status/1354356886074699776?s=20

"A couple of days ago I commented on a @KatyMontgomerie
tweet about AidanC linking some violent tweets with Helen Staniland and which I though was misleading. Tbh I’d never really read much about HS but found her constant penis tweets a bit irritating.

HS saw my tweet and thanked me for standing up for her (which I wasn’t, really, just though AidanC was being unfair). I thought that was uncharacteristically nice of her and started looking through her timeline. Yeah, she asked the same question a lot but it was a decent question that no one ever answered in good faith.

The only penis talk I could see was her just repeating the question, not asking for genital inspections etc as I had been led to believe. Her arguments seemed genuinely well meaning, if differing from my own viewpoint.

She was then permanently suspended from Twitter yesterday much to the absolute glee of many people I previously considered to be fairly decent moral compasses. I find any crowing about silencing anyone distasteful at the best of times but this was just downright nasty - mocking her appearance and openly saying she is a sexual deviant. I completely believe that trans women are women. I’m not going to change that view point. But w to #TheStanilandQuestion I’d have to say ‘No’ and I’d be seriously concerned about anyone who answers otherwise."

DancingLady · 27/01/2021 17:27

toconclude it's not natural, they are predators, they are just perverts who should be forced to stay 'normal

Please show where ANYONE has said this.

BrumBoo · 27/01/2021 17:27

I don’t know who he is but sounds like you are describing someone who is a transvestite not a transsexual.

Still trans though. I think you're a bit more transphobic than you even know @fembot123...

Fembot123 · 27/01/2021 17:27

@SchadenfreudePersonified

Have you? Can you forward to me please? What's a woman? I missed your answer.

I also asked Fembot this question and also seem to have missed the answer.

I'd be very interested in the definition.

@OvaHere - excellent post - thank you.

Someone who feels that they are and is transitioning. I didn’t know the figure of transsexuals who don’t get gender reassignment was so high so I’ve definitely learnt lots here.
Winesalot · 27/01/2021 17:27

I don’t believe that an individual who identifies as a woman would go through the hell of not fitting in anywhere, confusion, abuse physical and verbal, hormone therapy and potentially surgery just to rape someone in a toilet

Perhaps you are not quite up to date. There are males with full beards who are not on any hormones, or have any intention to have surgery who were up until Covid going into schools to education people about LGBT issues as a lesbian transwoman. They are a prominent transwoman. They have made it their lot in life to expand what is a woman. (By the way, this person also rely to a huge degree on stereotypes to do this. Such as fixing their car and then getting dressed up to do something sexist stereotype of womanly thing. Well, I was fixing my own car at 16 and did not ever change into a male to do it! ) There are a couple of others who are also prominent in politics.

You don't have to go through hormone therapy and potentially surgery at all to be a transwoman or to fit under the trans umbrella.

Fembot123 · 27/01/2021 17:28

No they aren’t transsexual.

JoodyBlue · 27/01/2021 17:28

I didn’t say they did, I was asked for my definition not any official line.
Whatwouldscullydo · 27/01/2021 17:29

Someone who feels that they are and is transitioning

Feels what though?

You cant feel like something ylu cant define so what constitutes this identity ?

Impatiens · 27/01/2021 17:29

God you lot are needy. I don’t know who he is but sounds like you are describing someone who is a transvestite not a transsexual.

Does that mean you aren't going to answer the question @Fembot123? Also - as you've already been told, a transvestite/cross-dresser is classed as a 'trans' person.

LowlandLucky · 27/01/2021 17:29

ListeningQuietly People with a prostate are males

Soontobe60 · 27/01/2021 17:29

@nanbread

A third space would also make transpeople more vulnerable to violence.

We already know transwomen are more likely to be attacked / killed than average.

What's to stop malicious people targeting third spaces?

No, that is not true. It’s females who are the demographic most likely to be subjected to violence and sexual assault. Not transwomen. In fact, transwomen are in one of the safest demographic. The urban myth of life expectancy of transwomen being around 30 years is based on a small group of trans sex workers in a small part of South America. Sex workers in general - male or female - are also at greater risk than trans sex workers!
DancingLady · 27/01/2021 17:29

Fembot so in summation: woman is a feeling.

What does being a woman FEEL like? Do we all FEEL the same way?

CaveMum · 27/01/2021 17:29

But FemBot the whole point us that the trans umbrella has been widened (by Stonewall and the like) to include transvestites, as well as any man who fancies a bit of eyelier and any woman with shirt hair and a par of Doc Martins.

Once you widen the term to include everyone from the genuinely disphoric to those men who get a sexual thrill from putting on a pair of frilly knickers in the M&S changing room and demanding that they all get to declare themselves to be women with no nuances opens up a whole world of trouble .

Bambini12 · 27/01/2021 17:30

Trans women are not men.

All women should be allowed to use women's spaces.

midgebabe · 27/01/2021 17:30

@Bambini12

Trans women are not men.

All women should be allowed to use women's spaces.

What is a man then ? How do I know if I am one or not?
DancingLady · 27/01/2021 17:30

@Bambini12

Trans women are not men.

All women should be allowed to use women's spaces.

How are they not men? 90% of them have penises.
RedDogsBeg · 27/01/2021 17:32

Whoops, you are being transphobic there Fembot123 not allowed to use transvestite and transsexual these days, just transgender. On Pippa days Phillip under the TW are women dogma is a woman because they say so and that's what you believe isn't it?

midgebabe · 27/01/2021 17:32

It's pretty horrid to say that a person without a penis is not a man

Men who lose penis through war, accident or illness are still men
