Neighbours having a gathering for 20 people tonight!

We live on a private drive tucked away with 5 houses. Our neighbours (very sociable, always breaking Covid rules) invited us neighbours out earlier for a socially distanced drink round a fire pit on his drive, spilling over to ours. Didn’t fancy it tbh. Glad I didn’t cause he’s obviously invited loads of his friends too! So fed up of this now! Selfish people making it worse for everyone else! I wouldn’t mind but he’s always moaning about covidiots on Facebook.

Good I hope they have a fabulous time. I'm sure they are willing to do their best against a virus with a 99.98% survival rate.

Shmithecat2 · 31/12/2020 19:56

Report them

flattyres · 31/12/2020 19:56

I would call the cops! seriously.

AndAPartridgeInABearTree · 31/12/2020 19:57

This is what 101 is for.

Doihavetogotoworkdotcom1 · 31/12/2020 19:57

Report them

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 31/12/2020 19:57

Police.

Anotherpointofview1 · 31/12/2020 19:58

Yes do report them op. It is the righteous, statsi thing to do.

PoppinTheCorn · 31/12/2020 19:58

I would be joining them.

Northernmummy80 · 31/12/2020 19:59

Most of the time I turn a blind eye to minor rule breaking, 7 people in a walk especially if most are kids etc however if there was large gathering with no socially distancing I would be tempted to report them. It’s hard as you don’t want to annoy your neighbours. Sorry OP it’s a hard one!

Meepmeeep · 31/12/2020 19:59

999 NOW - immediately! Don’t wait another minute.

natalienewname · 31/12/2020 20:00

Just report them. Or, decide you're not going to let it ruin your night and carry on as you were.

No point wasting energy stewing over it. Either act or ignore and move on

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 31/12/2020 20:00

@Meepmeeep

999 NOW - immediately! Don’t wait another minute.
I can’t tell who’s being serious and who’s taking the mick on this site anymore.
Bathroom12345 · 31/12/2020 20:00

Not 999 surely but 101 definitely. Hope he is fined. That will make him think again .

vodkaredbullgirl · 31/12/2020 20:00

Are you watching Eastenders btw.

TammyTwoSwanson · 31/12/2020 20:00

Report them. Have you seen the news about the hospitals?!!

yellowmaoampinball · 31/12/2020 20:01

If I could make one wish for 2021 it would be to not see one more person ridiculously throw around the word Stasi.

Paisley2018 · 31/12/2020 20:01

Unfortunately there are loads of people who will just do as they please.
If you call 101 will it be pretty obvious that you have called them? Are your other neighbours attending this gathering?

Allgirlskidsanddogs · 31/12/2020 20:02

101report them

BBCK · 31/12/2020 20:02

@Meepmeep
Do you live in an area with ACTUAL crime?

ohidoliketobe · 31/12/2020 20:02

I think you have two options: either report or ignore (and make sure you social distance from them)

HullBrian · 31/12/2020 20:03

Fucking report them. That is go the first time I’ve said that and maybe would have turned a blind eye before but nearly 1000 dead today and the highest confirmed cases on record.

No I don’t like it, yes I understand the survival rate but I’m fucking sick of living like a caged animal while others think the rules don’t apply and they can do what the hell they want.

gamerchick · 31/12/2020 20:03

Police are patrolling around here looking for parties. If it bothers you then report it.

Personally I've lost interest in other people. People are knobs. They deserve everything they get.

QforCucumber · 31/12/2020 20:04

@Anotherpointofview1 80k deaths. 2 millions cases (rounded for ease) 80k is not 0.03% of 2 million. Its just shy of 4%. That means - as an example, of every resident of Manchester gets covid 25,000 will die. Why is that acceptable to you?

Lifeispassingby · 31/12/2020 20:04

@Anotherpointofview1 not sur EY our maths is right there but I know. Even so, covid may not kill you, you may be lucky and survive it. But whilst surviving it you could be seriously ill and need invasive medical treatment that could change your life forever. After surviving it you may never work again, or take exercise. You may need long term medical care and treatment. Oh and that aid you’re lucky enough to get a hospital bed whilst seriously ill with COVID in the first place. If not then you may not get the treatment you need to survive in the first place. Use your brain, it’s really not that complicated

lovescaca · 31/12/2020 20:05

@Anotherpointofview1 🤣👍👍👍
