Neighbours having a gathering for 20 people tonight!

We live on a private drive tucked away with 5 houses. Our neighbours (very sociable, always breaking Covid rules) invited us neighbours out earlier for a socially distanced drink round a fire pit on his drive, spilling over to ours. Didn’t fancy it tbh. Glad I didn’t cause he’s obviously invited loads of his friends too! So fed up of this now! Selfish people making it worse for everyone else! I wouldn’t mind but he’s always moaning about covidiots on Facebook.

@Anotherpointofview1 & @Yoshinori

"Even a fool is thought wise if they keep silent" is a motto you'd do well to live by. Alternatively just saying "I'm a cunt" is a quicker way to let us know that.

Retreatandsurrender · 31/12/2020 21:06

@HullBrian

Fucking report them. That is go the first time I’ve said that and maybe would have turned a blind eye before but nearly 1000 dead today and the highest confirmed cases on record.

No I don’t like it, yes I understand the survival rate but I’m fucking sick of living like a caged animal while others think the rules don’t apply and they can do what the hell they want.

Absolutely this.
Roussette · 31/12/2020 21:06

I don’t judge anyone wanting to enjoy tonight at all.

I do
Big time

littlepattilou · 31/12/2020 21:06

@Yoshinori

Good for them ! We’re having a party of around 20 people as well and I dare anyone to challenge. We know we don’t have covid.
Ooooooookay.... 😂

You're having a party for 20 people, but are posting on here??? Must be a great party if you're spending time posting drivel on mumsnet.

Are all your phantom guests sitting there watching you posting nonsense on here?

Yeah......... of COURSE you are having a party. Wink

Don't get mad at @Yoshinori folks. They're full of shit. Wink They're just trying to get a rise out of people.

SoupDragon · 31/12/2020 21:07

There is nothing selfish about it.

It is entirely selfish.

Only idiots would think it's OK.

MrsGrindah · 31/12/2020 21:07

@Yoshinori Ha ha good one! I nearly fell for it then realised that nobody in real life could be that stupid

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 31/12/2020 21:08

@Meepmeeep

999 NOW - immediately! Don’t wait another minute.
Get a grip, how dare you abuse 999 for thisConfused
Mreggsworth · 31/12/2020 21:08

Report them.

Things are just going to get worse because of them. It isn't a case of minding your own business, because their business directly impacts you and the whole of society by contributing to the spread and hospitals maxing capacity.

BethHarmon · 31/12/2020 21:08

So many of us have sacrificed so much this year and having one night where it can all feel normal isn’t bad

And you deserve it more than everyone else who is still abiding by the rules because.....?

There is nothing selfish about it

What planet are you on, are you having a wind up? Haven’t you read the fucking news. Haven’t you read testimonies from doctors and nurses on the frontline?

HibernatingTill2030 · 31/12/2020 21:09

@Yoshinori

There is nothing selfish about it.

So many of us have sacrificed so much this year and having one night where it can all feel normal isn’t bad.

I follow covid rules 90% of the time, wear a face mask, social distance, the lot.

I don’t judge anyone wanting to enjoy tonight at all.

Not at all.

Hopefully 2021 can be a better and more normal year for us all Smile

There is everything selfish about it. You don't have a clue if one one of your guests has asymptomatic covid, do you? And if all 19 of you also get asymptomatic covid, you don't give a fuck who you infect, do you? Or can you honestly say all 20 of you will isolate for the next 10 days? Will you have, between you all, kids in school, people in work, people shopping, people out and about doing what the fuck they want? Maybe YOU and your 20 guests will be fine. But the 100+ people you could potentially infect from one person may not be. But of course, you have had a hard year, crack on.
disconnecteddrifter · 31/12/2020 21:09

Erm I've had a bad year follow restrictions 90 % of the time. Thick as fucking pigshit. Your one night or ten out of 100 contributes to the rest of us being locked down fucking selfish idiot

ktp100 · 31/12/2020 21:09

There is nothing selfish about it

It is 100% selfish.

Another day of nearly 1000 families grieving their loved ones lost to covid today.

Anyone who currently thinks it's OK to do this at the moment is an actual arsehole.

If only the NHS could refuse the twats care.

GalaxyCookieCrumble · 31/12/2020 21:09

@TammyTwoSwanson

Report them. Have you seen the news about the hospitals?!!
I hope you realise the hospitals have this every year and have done for years? Nothing like Tory Propaganda is there?

letsdolunch321 · 31/12/2020 21:10

@fluffy71 How can you post this & then let these idiots all congregate together.

The neighbour is laughing at you!!!

Yoshinori · 31/12/2020 21:10

What kind of NYE party starts at 9 pm ?
You must be on the older side Grin

9 pm is very early for any sort of fun party to start.

Anyway, I’m going to mute this thread. Clearly some people enjoy leading a low quality of life and get mad when other people want to enjoy LIVING !

I just hope that you don’t pay the consequences
ktp100 · 31/12/2020 21:11

....whi I hoped gets fined to fuck.

HibernatingTill2030 · 31/12/2020 21:11

Yes, they have traditionally had winter pressures without the added pressure of a fucking pandemic. Don't why this concept is so hard to grip. Hospitals have ALL the normal pressures (well, apart from planned surgery, which has been cancelled) with an extra surge on top.

disconnecteddrifter · 31/12/2020 21:11

Why do people think that so long as they will be ok of they catch covid then that's alright? So what if uou have no kids in school, elderly relatives or people who own hospitality businesses? You should party on whilst the rest of us suffer because seriously if a party eases your hadd time you dont know you're fucking born

SoupDragon · 31/12/2020 21:12

*when other people want to enjoy LIVING "5

Ironic.

VladimirCutiePutiPie · 31/12/2020 21:13

I hope they don’t have any children coming into school on Monday where I work.

Buccanarab · 31/12/2020 21:13

"Clearly some people enjoy leading a low quality of life and get mad when other people want to enjoy LIVING"

I'm gonna quote that to you if you or someone you care about is unfortunate enough to end up on a ventilator. Sure you'll appreciate the sentiment.

Yes I’ve sacrificed an awful lot.

Not nearly as much as NHS staff, or frontline workers who are literally on their knees begging people to not do exactly what you’re doing tonight.

You are so selfish you can’t sacrifice ONE NYE? You think your need for a party is greater than what is happening in the UK today?

Go and spend an hour in a COVID ward, or with someone who couldn’t spend time with their loved ones as they died alone from this fucking virus. Go and speak to a nurse, look them in the eyes and tell them you deserve this night off.

I hope you catch it, I really do.
