Pajama bottoms with backside seams are unhygenic

Fangtiger · 18/12/2020 11:10

Am I the only person who has a problem with the backside seam on pajama bottoms? The seam goes up my bum so I end up wearing night time knickers underneath to stop that happening and to stop having to wash my pjs every day. Do pj bottoms without a backside seam exist? Someone told me M&S had some, but can't find them.

They definitely are too tight even if they are a bigger size. They should be loosey goosey. Treat yourself to some more fabric.

You see I think their very looseness make them ride up if you wriggle around a lot in bed. Mine were almost falling down when I was out of bed but when I was in bed they felt like a bacon slicer - with me as the bacon.
CounsellorTroi · 18/12/2020 15:23

I don't have any central seam issues with long pyjamas, but short ones are a different matter. I have to get a size bigger, they cut me in half otherwise.

TheBlueStocking · 18/12/2020 15:24

You've got me thinking about my pyjamas now. Mine are from British Boxers and they're very billowy in the bottom, if you are in the market for PJs.

This happens to me when I wear a onesie. It's not comfortable to sleep feeling like sliced bacon. That is a very accurate analogy.

QuestionableMouse · 18/12/2020 15:36

Pants under pj's during the day.

All off for bed. I sleep a lot better naked 😂🤷🏻‍♀️

Clean pants the next day.

notalwaysalondoner · 18/12/2020 15:37

I found this only happens to me when I’m wearing a size too small.

And why oh why do those bum flap pjs keep being advertised on MN?? Who buys them?! What is their target market? Are they supposed to be sexy? Or convenient for night time toilet breaks...?!

cardibach · 18/12/2020 15:38

@goopsoup

I don't think it's a coincidence that I have never once had thrush BECAUSE MY BITS CAN BREATHE.

I always wear pants when sleeping and I've never had thrush.

Do you wash after a poo? I think that's key.

Nope. Pants in bed. Wash after a poo only if I poo before my shower. Only time I’ve had thrush was after giving birth when bits were in a parlous state anyway. I’m confused how people think with legs fairly together and a duvet over that anything is getting an airing anyway!
PurplePansy05 · 18/12/2020 15:44

I never wear PJs without pants so I can't help you OP. Never crossed my mind not to wear pants Hmm

EggnogAndAMincepie · 18/12/2020 15:44

Funny cos I had the exact same conversation with my OH the other day. And no my pj bottoms aren't too small!! I never sleep in pj bottoms or knickers. Prefer to be free in bed but find even just sitting relaxing on the settee in them irritating

user686833 · 18/12/2020 15:46

Oh FFS. I've accidentally bookmarked this post, of all posts. Anyone know how to unbookmark? I can't find the option. OP, it's normal practice to wear underwear with pyjamas regardless.

Savoretti · 18/12/2020 15:50

How would you get the shape if you made them out of one piece of material?

Fangtiger · 18/12/2020 15:54

Don't even start on the short pj bottoms - they are even worse! I don't have a big bum, I do buy a size much larger. Just moving around in bed and the seam goes up my bum. Whoever said gussets are the answer is on to something. Or men's boxers that go to your ankles. They used to make them like that so it's not weird or impossible. I posted before but got no traffic except one that said she'd bought a pair from M&S. I asked for details but didn't hear back.

Men’s woven cotton boxer shorts (not jersey material) often have a rectangular bum panel. If you zoom onto this photo you’ll see it.
They can look cute on girls.
Not good for winter, though.

Sgtmajormummy · 18/12/2020 16:05

Sorry, xpost!

kowari · 18/12/2020 16:12

Uniqlo thermal leggings have a triangle bum piece.

Pjs without pants? If you are female? *hurls
what on earth do you do with your pjs that require pants underneath? Confused
TabithaTowers · 18/12/2020 16:24

Best laugh this week @onlythepianoplayer

If your crack is eating your jammies you are wearing at least 2 sizes too small

GoldfishParade · 18/12/2020 16:30

@MrsHugsxx
goosoup, I'd rather not know about someone's fanny stinking hands thanks. You like it, you do you hun.

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 18/12/2020 16:32

My mum always said not to wear pants to bed as you’ll get a yeast infection. Never wore pants to bed in my life!
