to feel so very unnerved by Britney’s Instagram?

Just that. I rarely use Instagram but found myself scrolling Britney Spears account today. It’s incredibly unnerving. She is clearly very very unwell. I found some of her videos disturbing and hard to watch.

Video after video of her spinning and spinning.. dancing I suppose but in a very intense, strange and manic way. Videos of her talking in a very fast, disjointed and manic way. I don’t think there is anyone who could watch her videos and not come to the conclusion that she is very mentally unwell.

Where have you been the last 10 years?
The details of the conservatorship are ridiculous and she’s constantly medicated. The conservatorship states she can’t have a phone, partner or go anywhere without permission.

She posts the same things repeatedly and has done for some time. She often looks drugged up and eye makeup is always smudged. The whole set up is bizarre. No idea what that "I'm about to strangle you" photo is about. Fans have pointed out that the birthday post was too early...

Ugh I'm with you on that, my heart breaks for the poor woman. I know the conservatorship is very strict and always wonder at who is giving her this access to social media?

I haven't seen them. Her recent court case with her father didn't go well, there must be something wrong if he still manages all her decisions.

We know she is, she has a chronic mental illness which requires a cocktail of medication to manage and constant tweaking of that medication to ensure stability. Should she only post on social media when she is well, stable, meds are working well.

I haven’t looked and I’m not normally a conspiracy type at all — but given how much money is at stake, are you sure she’s the one posting?

Just sounds like it could easily be a strategy on the part of her family to reinforce their preferred narrative of her being unsafe to manage her own affairs.

MorganKitten - that’s interesting, how is she accessing social media without a phone? And it seems like she definitely does have a partner, she calls him her boyfriend and he’s in many of her pictures and videos?
It’s terrible to think she’s potentially been used and abused by everyone around her, for her whole life - not that we can know that for sure but I know her parents but her out there as a child star around the age of 10 or so.

Yes it's really upsetting. She is clearly not well. All her videos are her alone dancing in the same hallway, usually wearing the same clothes, with terribly smudged make up and matted hair extensions.

Her conservatorship was granted on the basis that she could not take care of herself. It gave sweeping powers to her father and the lawyer in charge, leaving her with no power or decision making ability in her own life, but they are clearly not taking good care of her either. She's a very, very rich woman. She could have the best care in the world: live in nurses / helpers, the best doctors, cutting edge medication and therapeutic treatments; anything to help her live a happy and safe life. But she seems to be badly medicated and imprisoned in her house. She never seems to go anywhere, there are no pictures of her in restaurants or salons or anywhere except her house. It's disturbing that this is allowed.

I do wonder if the control hasn't helped her and all the medication makes her worse. I know she had a difficult public breakdown after KF and her DC when shaving her head and lost custody but really hoped she'd recovered when she got visitation back.

Hhmmm I'd say that's Def what he looks like he's about to do / insinuating. There's no other reason he'd have a hang either side of her neck like that

Yes op it's very weird that the conservaship (sic) is so limiting yet she's "allowed" to post video after video of herself like thism. It's almost like it's encouraged so her Dad can say yes see, I told you she isn't right, I must keep controlling her

Tbf she may be accessing Instagram via iPad. I don't know if she's allowed that but if she is, it's a simple explanation for it. I'd have thought though that if they can block her using a phone theyd also be able to ban social media access.
