Just that. I rarely use Instagram but found myself scrolling Britney Spears account today. It’s incredibly unnerving. She is clearly very very unwell. I found some of her videos disturbing and hard to watch.

Yes! And any photos of her outside the home her face isn't visible. It's from the back etc. All strang!

What access does she have to her children, and how does her supposed inability to make decisions and run her own life factor into that?

I feel really sorry for Britney. If her parents were genuinely concerned for her welfare, then they would be giving her the best care physically possible and shielding her from the lime light. Not having her out doing greatest hits residences in Vegas and flogging her perfumes. They don't give two shits as long as the money keeps rolling in.

I do think in some of her photos she looks dead behind the eyes.

She doesn't access social media, her management team posts everything, makes up the captions etc

If you want to get really dark some of it smacks of her handlers wanting to make her look doolally to make the conservatorship look more valid

Regardless it's a modern day slavery issue and really needs taking up by some big international human rights organisation.

Oh and it’s supposed to be a very rare form of dementia, that is likely due to a genetic brain malformation. As well as other mental health conditions that are in place.

No one can say she should be out or getting better care, she lives in a beautiful nome, which is effectively a private nursing home with staff who manage her care, 24/7.

@wildraisins

The internet is so weird in that it keeps people famous long after they should have faded into obscurity.

Wouldn't really occur to me to look up Britney Spears, to be honest!

Given the 90s revival happening at the moment and how much of an icon Britney was in her prime it's hardly surprising, is it?

I think most of these threads contain really unfair statements. Most people's pics and videos are taken in their houses, it's where they live. As for her appearance...she's never been high maintenance, it's not the way she is. Lots of American celebs speak 'childlike' e.g. Paris Hilton, Pamela Anderson.
There are definitely personal problems in her life- shame on her dad.

I also think the head photo looks photoshopped. Like her head has been added, his hands hide the blurred lines!

This is just ridiculous made up nonsense that’s not even feasible. The court has repeatedly employed their own medical team to assess her extensively and report back. You can’t seriously be suggesting that every single independent doctor and all the judges are conspiring to keep her locked up

The woman is ill. It’s tragic. But many people are ill. It happens. It just so happens it happened to her.

No the Court hasn't. What independent doctors? They're all paid for by her team!!

If she was so ill as to require a conservatorship why are they making her record music, release albums, sending her around the world on tours and interviews. Surely that stress is the last thing an extremely disabled mentally unwell individual needs

It's all about making money, stop being so naive

I read that her children were only 3 months and 20 months or something when she lost all custody. That kind of thing must be hard to ever recover from
She may be a victim of post partum psychosis it was horrible watching her life unravel my friends DM never fully recovered after the wrong treatment in the 70's. KF was a dickhead too he knew how to manipulate her emotions after two pregnancies so close together most people would be vunerable.
I was a big fan of Britney.

I don’t follow her, but looking at the videos she looks very unwell. She’s a good example of why children shouldn’t be exposed to too much too soon in life. I blame her parents. No child should be financially supporting their parents.

Her mental illness is supposed to be genetic. So if you’re that sort you could blame her parents yes, but it’s not environmental.

There's high maintenance and then there's unkempt though. Her extensions are a great example - last time I was on her IG they looked so matted and old. It's not a way your typically mentally healthy person would want to present themselves and if she's too unwell to take of it herself, I can't understand why her team aren't sorting it for her.

I find it all very strange. The fact that her father (I think) took control of her money etc and instead of taking her out of the public eye (which should have happened around the time she had a meltdown and shaved her head), carried on pushing her into the spotlight. She's never been anything other than a money making machine for her family. Any decent parents, who really wanted the best for her, would have taken her away and given her time to recover but no, the money had to keep rolling in. There's no way on earth anyone could convince me they have her best interests at heart, no matter how beautiful her home is or how well off she (or they) are.

If you weren't allowed out you wouldn't bother either

The recent article unread seemed to imply that she had never applied to have it revoked, so wasn't that bothered. And that her estate had increased massively in value.

She’s unwell, and likely there are times she won’t let her team do it.

She's allowed visitation but isn't allowed to see the children unsupervised.

She wasn't allowed to hire her own lawyers until recently, everything had to be approved by her father

And you wouldn't bother if you were posting to your social media account and your millions of followers? Fine if you're doing it occasionally but when I saw it (months ago now) it was in all her posts. I find that very strange for someone in their right mind to do.

She's not posting it though, she's not allowed access to a phone

And never mind not getting her hair done as she's not being allowed out, surely most people would want to maintain them for themselves? Or have the extensions removed if the maintenance is too much? I can't imagine that it's the look she originally intended on.
