Matt Hancock..awful. Anyone else feel the same?

Like an overexcited public school boy revelling in telling us what we can and can’t do.

ThereIsNoSuchThingAsRoadTax · 21/11/2020 22:58

Of course he's creepy. He's a tory MP.

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 21/11/2020 23:01

I get irrationally annoyed by his pink tie and his smarmy grin.

It also irritated me that he signed the shielding letters as "Matt" as if he's pretending to be my bestest friend.

FudgeBrownie2019 · 21/11/2020 23:04

Oh he's possessed by demons, certainly. It's the eyes.

He sent a letter to one of my parents signed "Matt" and they used it to scoop a particularly nasty poop their dog had done and then sent me a text message proudly announcing it in alarming detail. If I ever meet him I'll tell him.

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 21/11/2020 23:05

Slimy, I find him slimy. In the way used car salesmen always used to be portrayed.

Toilenstripes · 21/11/2020 23:06

I feel the opposite. Perhaps because I’m not originally from the U.K.. I think Kier Starmer is awfully greasy.

ZombieAttack · 21/11/2020 23:06

He’s so smug.’I decided to order more flu vaccines’. Of course you did Matt. Signed the pharmacy book yourself I’m sure.

Although Priti Patel also has a good run on smug expressions.

Fuss · 21/11/2020 23:07

Ahh Hancocks half hour 😂

The possessed by demons comment, please tell me you've seen Dominic Cummings on the new Spitting Image? Between him as a human hating alien and Pritti the vampire It was highly amusing.

Odious little twat, isn't he? I could boot him in the plums for ages before getting bored.

96315id · 21/11/2020 23:11

I don't know about him but you all sound delightful.

Dustballs · 21/11/2020 23:22

I can't stand any of these Tories. Some of the old ones that got kicked out are OK.

Not keen on many of the Labour lot either.

But Hancock is definitely - not one of the worst - I'd leave that for Gove and BJ and JRM and many others. Hancock could be/should be acceptable compared to the other abhorrent lot. On the surface he seems that way.

But there's something just not very far down under his surface that's not right at all. I agree. He is creepy.

Marshmallowfun · 21/11/2020 23:26

Agreed. Feel very uncomfortable when he pops up on TV. Can’t explain why.

SpillingTheTea · 21/11/2020 23:26

Every time I see him or any MOP I automatically think do think to myself, please have a nice cup of shut the fuck up.

NameChChChChChanges · 22/11/2020 07:29

He is awful. Have you seen that video of him from around election time with the fenale journalist? It's totally cringe inducing and I can't see/hear him now without thinking about it. I'll try to find a link...

NameChChChChChanges · 22/11/2020 07:31

m.youtube.com/watch?v=OrgCYK9xrRw

Sorry, it's a female candidate, not journalist.

DrManhattan · 22/11/2020 07:31

I reckon he is inspired by Alan Partridge and Richard Madeley. Urghhhhh

flaviaritt · 22/11/2020 07:46
  • Oh he's possessed by demons, certainly. It's the eyes.^

😂

When he goes home at the end of a long of day of smarming, he neither eats nor sleeps.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 22/11/2020 07:51

To be fair he was jolly funny in the Blood Donor. Hmm

DobbyTheHouseElk · 22/11/2020 07:55

I have a family member who works with him. Apparently he’s one of the good guys.

Originalyellowbelly · 22/11/2020 07:55

When he does that creepy smile it makes me think he has a secret joke on the rest of us.

bobbiester · 22/11/2020 08:05

Cold War Steve captures the creepiness...

Yes!!!!!

I've always said there's something about him that's stereotypical character but couldn't get my hands on it.

itsgettingweird · 22/11/2020 08:18

Having said that ^ ...... I've always preferred him to any of the others. He's made mistakes and they been bad (but benefit if the doubt it's a novel virus) but he's come across as genuine and wanting to do the right thing. I'm sure he's challenged BJ etc on some of his decisions before as well.

But I suspect the stakes are higher for him being health secretary and we know he'll be thrown under the bus by others and I suspect he knows it too.

FishesaPlenty · 22/11/2020 08:42

I reckon he is inspired by Alan Partridge and Richard Madeley

He reminds me of the George Roper character from 'Man About The House' and 'George & Mildred'. His face when he's asked an awkward question is identical to George's when Mildred catches him out in a lie.

EssexGurl · 22/11/2020 08:48

At least he is visible. Unlike Gavin Williams. Gav - what is happening to my sons GCSE exams????
