Matt Hancock..awful. Anyone else feel the same?

Like an overexcited public school boy revelling in telling us what we can and can’t do.

OP posts:

While I dont believe in being a psychic or anything both myself, my mother and great grandmother have a sense for things. My first impression of him was that he has done a really bad thing in his past

That's all a bit Mystic Meg and batshit.

And yes, I think he's a knob, but you can't go around coming out with shit like that.

Wiredforsound · 22/11/2020 18:59

Can’t believe some of you would rather shag Hancock than Starmer. It would be like shagging (as someone noted) George Roper. He’d probably make you neatly fold your nightie up to your waist for ‘the act’.

Are you blind? Starmer's skin is covered in little pockmarks covered by a light sheen of grease. He's overweight, wrinkled and his chin and forehead are massive, yet he has a mean little narrow mouth. Not to mention the fact that he would be looking sideways, shiftily, for the next best thing and droning on about his right-on, carefully crafted values while in the act.

At least Hancock is hot and has symmetrical features. He's actually quite sporty too and has won a race as a jockey, which takes a high level of fitness and skill, and regularly rides out racehorses in the mornings before work. And he's energetic...I definatly would!

I bet he carries around one of mummys old nighties to sniff when the press get to him.

EvilPea · 22/11/2020 19:25

I heard him described as
Your sisters first boyfriend with a car

And I think it’s spot on. He is like a comedy character.

AgnesNaismith · 22/11/2020 19:31

I really feel I have to tell you all this. Matt Hancock has an app. It’s called Matt Hancock and it is essentially a social network. So he posts and other people can comment, they can converse with other Matt Hancock fans on there too. So bizarre.

It seems like the kind of thing Trump might do.

Still quite like him though Confused

PicsInRed · 22/11/2020 19:41

@goosebumps

The comments most of you are saying about someone you don't know personally say a lot more about you than him.

Horrible thread.

Absoutely agree. He's an actual person - reputedly a decent one - doing presently one of the world's least coveted jobs, which he'll likely be professionally scapegoated over. This vitriol really is all a bit much.
pressedclay · 22/11/2020 19:43

I alway think he's like an actor playing a spineless, useless politician then I realise thats just who he is.

I had no idea 😂 it's on google play and everything. I've just laughed til I cried and I think I like him better just for the madness of it. 😂😂😂
LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 22/11/2020 20:10

Yes I want to slap his smug slimy face.

the80sweregreat · 22/11/2020 20:12

There was footage of him at a Christmas do somewhere singing a Queen song. He really thought he was a rock god.

AgnesNaismith · 22/11/2020 20:24

@PicsInRed I’m so glad.....I did the exact same! I found out about it from the podcast ‘the High Low’ when trying to sleep and laughed so much I woke dh up. Then I downloaded it and it cheers me up on a daily basis, sometimes hysterically, other times just an ‘oh Matt’ kind of way.

Highly recommended.

Frazzled2207 · 22/11/2020 20:26

I agree.
However I knew him at sixth form/in my early twenties (we’re talking 20 years ago) and he was a reasonable guy back then.

thewalrus · 22/11/2020 20:33

I knew him at university. I thought he was an arrogant idiot then (and have seen little to change that view since), but I don't think he's the worst of them by a long shot and I don't remember him being creepy or sinister.

FlatulentSproutEater · 22/11/2020 20:35

@MaxNormal

Odious little twat, isn't he? I could boot him in the plums for ages before getting bored.
I love this so much I choked on my butterscotch sweet! Grin
FreshFreesias · 22/11/2020 20:39

He’s awful

Amanduh · 22/11/2020 20:39

Everyone I know who has worked with or met him only says very nice things about him.
To be fair, I quite like him

InTheShadowOfTheMushroomCloud · 22/11/2020 20:42

He comes from my village and went to school with my brother. Apparently he was ok and a bit of a geek.

Oswin · 22/11/2020 20:43

He reminds me of randall from recess.

user1471565182 · 22/11/2020 20:43

Conservatives cant be decent by definition anymore. Ken Clarke and Anna Soubry were the last.

Neither do I but I think he has come across a bit creepy on telly sometimes. I do think he's trying hard to do a very tough job in very difficult circumstances and any of us in a similar situation would struggle. But perhaps Boris should have been more open to keeping more experienced people in the cabinet (and in his party) rather than only giving the big jobs to people who were prepared to back him. I am no fan of Jeremy Hunt but he would have been far better just with years of experience behind him for starters. I think MH is mostly just woefully out of his depth.
thewalrus · 22/11/2020 21:45

Completely agree, Frazzled!
What the world has come to when you long for the days of Jeremy Hunt...!!

Craftycorvid · 22/11/2020 21:49

Always looks like he’s telling massive fibs.... oh wait! If he walked up to that briefing podium wet through, carrying an umbrella and announced it was raining, you’d go and check.

nosswith · 22/11/2020 21:57

@thewalrus I agree with you that he is not the worst by a long way. Out of his depth as opposed to being nasty such as Gavin Williamson.

As for Jeremy Hunt, I believe if he had become Prime Minister, about 10,000 fewer people would have died in the UK from the virus.

Happymum12345 · 22/11/2020 22:07

I have to switch over as soon as he appears on tv. I just can’t bare him at all and he really does give me the creeps.
