Matt Hancock..awful. Anyone else feel the same?

Like an overexcited public school boy revelling in telling us what we can and can’t do.

OP posts:
AnyFucker · 24/11/2020 12:31

Case in point ^^

5863921l · 25/11/2020 14:38

I wonder if this is his wife -no sympathy from me , anyone who stands with that silly smug grin whilst people are out of their mind worrying how they are going to cope doesn't deserve respect

There' are quite a lot of responses between respecting someone and the slanderous and highly speculative comments made here. (Smug grin = family murderer - really???).

I think he's trying to look sympathetic and positive personally but no, clearly an axe murderer who hasn't yet found his axe.

AdoptedBumpkin · 25/11/2020 14:40

Find him less creepy than some of his colleagues, but he does nearly send me to sleep sometimes.

pourmethevino · 25/11/2020 14:43

He reminds me of a pantomime baddy 👺

Ihatefish · 25/11/2020 14:43

No one can be as creepy as Jeremy Corbyn though, he has slimes predator written all over his anorak

loulouljh · 25/11/2020 14:44

I cannot look at him...he is seriously smug and smurking...want to take his NHS badge and prick him with it!!!

AngryFishes · 25/11/2020 14:49

I think he makes love quickly and furtively.

timeforanewstart · 25/11/2020 14:53

He is also a human being trying to do a very difficult job
So easy to sit behind a keyboard/ phone and make personal comments about someone
Not liking his politics or decisions is one thing but some of these posts go too far no wonder hardly anyone wants to be an mp , the personal insults you endure is a lot to put up with
And no I am not his wife or relative or anything just a normal person who has compassion
Same as those who say all tories are xxx or all lib dems this , basically anyone who doesn't share your views , very narrow minded

HollowTalk · 25/11/2020 14:54

When I look at him I think damp hands and limp handshake.

quest1on · 25/11/2020 14:56

Does nobody tell this man to change his suit and tie combo??? If not, why not? Every single day since the virus became news, he is on in a navy suit and pale pink tie. Does his wife not tell him, or his kids.... anybody, anywhere... helloooo? I can’t believe it.

I find him fairly insipid personally. There are many worse.

GW is particularly astonishing. Why, just why? And where the hell is he? What is happening with exams fgs?

I could go on, obviously, but it’s too depressing. At least the real demon goblin has slung his hook.

nosswith · 25/11/2020 15:30

@timeforanewstart your comments about Matt Hancock are fair enough. Hence my comment that he is overpromoted and out of his depth, not about his manner or appearance.

However, I think that there are times when personal comments about politicians are reasonable. Especially misogyny such as that of the Prime Minister.

GreenlandTheMovie · 25/11/2020 16:52

Granted Nosswith but some of the comments on this thread make my stomach churn. A man called Nicholas Nelson, from Norfolk, received a suspended sentence today for targetting mps with malicious messages and some of the messages weren't that dissimilar to what has been said on here.

How civilised people can think its ok to talk like that, just because of their political views, I don't know.

user1471565182 · 26/11/2020 07:29

ohhhh Hanky, you corrupt POS

'An acquaintance and former neighbour of Matt Hancock is supplying the government with tens of millions of vials for NHS Covid-19 tests despite having had no previous experience of producing medical supplies.

Alex Bourne, who used to run a pub close to Hancock’s former constituency home in Suffolk, said he initially offered his services to the UK health secretary several months ago by sending him a personal WhatsApp message.

Bourne’s company, Hinpack, was at that time producing plastic cups and takeaway boxes for the catering industry. It is now supplying about 2m medical grade vials a week to the government via a distributor contracted by the NHS.'

Parkour your way out of this.

They're all like private school kids who get themselves into a world of shit because they want to play the big man 'sorting' their mates with weed.

JovialNickname · 26/11/2020 11:15

@AngryFishes

I think he makes love quickly and furtively.
And cries afterwards.
AnyFucker · 26/11/2020 12:12

Anybody watching him live in the House of Commons ?

He's pretty much running the show by himself, it would seem.

PigletJohn · 26/11/2020 13:00

He's not much good, but Boris has to staff his government with the B-team because he sacked, deselected, demoted or ennobled anybody who was intelligent, competent, experienced and had a backbone.

Remember when the Chancellor was sacked for failing to obey Cummings?

That's why he couldn't find anybody better than Prissy.

KatnissNeverseen · 26/11/2020 13:03

I think he is useless at what he does and needs replacing asap.

nosswith · 26/11/2020 18:44

@AnyFucker he does seem one of the few cabinet ministers prepared to stand up and do interviews. Or should I say few male cabinet ministers, as female ones are kept hidden, except Priti Patel to be wheeled out for bad news.

AnyFucker · 26/11/2020 18:46

Indeed

PigletJohn · 26/11/2020 19:37

I thought that was because Boris 'boss ordered him to avoid any grown-up interviewers who might expose his poor grasp of reality.

Nomoreboobs · 26/11/2020 21:13

@AngryFishes @JovialNickname

Says thank you afterwards

HopeClearwater · 26/11/2020 23:15

Isn’t this Alex Bourne married to Rachel Stevens and part of a high end investment company? He’s not just a random pub landlord. These people are big money and Hancock wants to be one of them.

Osirus · 27/11/2020 00:14

I like him 🤷‍♀️.

I know I’ll be seen as odd but I actually think he’s done a good job. They all have...

Because we’ve not done this before. They’ve had to battle an unknown quantity for months, not knowing which decision would be right or wrong.

What I would like to see is how some of YOU would have handled it?

If anything, you need to give these guys SOME credit for actually sticking around to give it a shot. I would have been out the door in a flash.

Defenbaker · 27/11/2020 00:53

@Osirus I agree with you. He's not perfect, and does appear somewhat socially awkward at times, but he's done his best in an incredibly difficult job. Perhaps he does feel out of his depth at times, but most people in his situation would feel that way.

I don't see him as smarmy at all - if anything he comes across as quite a shy person, who struggles with being in the public gaze so much. He doesn't seem nearly as confident as most other MPs, so I'm surprised he went into politics. He dresses smartly enough, and as for wearing the same pink tie - maybe he has several similar ties?
