Matt Hancock..awful. Anyone else feel the same?

Like an overexcited public school boy revelling in telling us what we can and can’t do.

Splodgetastic · 22/11/2020 08:49

He’s like that sweaty middle-aged colleague at work who you wouldn’t want to be left alone with! I’m sure he’s perfectly nice, but I know what you mean/

GreenlandTheMovie · 22/11/2020 08:54

Toilenstripes I find the opposite. Perhaps it's because I'm not from the UK. I find Keir Starmer awfully greasy

Same here. I can never understand some of the men British people find attractive and untrustworthy. Keir Starmer looks the epitome of sleaze and manipulation to me. Hancock is quite hot and must be putting a huge effort into his job. All detriment on the eyes of the typical british member of the public.

Igglepiggle78 · 22/11/2020 09:04

@GreenlandTheMovie He’s hot?!!

I think you're mixing up looks with actual sleaze. Hancock is sleazy as [insert expletive] ...

I don't get the Hancock Hate, personally

That man has the worst job in the country right now. He hasn't flaked away like some of the others. He's been wheeled out countless times when the shit has been flying around. He doesn't strike me as a backstabbing, misogynist empathy-vacuum like eg. Rees-Mogg.

Our health secretary could be worse. I know this is hardly a ringing endorsement, however Smile

PhilCornwall1 · 22/11/2020 09:15

I bet he's the one who got slapped a lot at school and is now seeking his revenge.

He's a clueless twat, like all MPs.

Wiredforsound · 22/11/2020 09:18

Someone on Twitter said they struggled to tell the difference between Matt Hancock and Dominic Rabbe. One response suggested that Hancock looked like an accountant who’d drained the company pension scheme by accident, and Rabbe looked like an accountant who’d drained the company pension Scheme on purpose.

Myotherusernamewastakenagain · 22/11/2020 09:18

Is he ever allowed inside? Every time he gets interviewed these days he's outside.

Of course he is, the little tosser keeps telling us it's the safest place to be.
ReggaetonLente · 22/11/2020 09:21

I agree that he seems to enjoy the power and treating us like naughty kids. Ages ago someone asked him a question about Christmas and his response was 'its not a yes, not a no', so smug and pompous. He sounded like a primary school teacher being asked if we could go out to play. Just say we're not sure yet, we'll have to see what the data tells us nearer the time. Honesty and humility are just so sorely lacking in this government.

Waferbiscuit · 22/11/2020 09:23

Op have you seen Russell Howard's piece with 'Matt' on Twitter? It's fab.

@Toilenstripes

I feel the opposite. Perhaps because I’m not originally from the U.K.. I think Kier Starmer is awfully greasy.
Me too, Mr Twenty Twenty Hindsight.
MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 22/11/2020 09:25

I quite like him. And I respect that he's been visible during this whole crisis. I know that shield be a given but what with our PM who's MIA most of the time, it seems this is something to be admired now

goosebumps · 22/11/2020 09:26

The comments most of you are saying about someone you don't know personally say a lot more about you than him.

Horrible thread.

WitchQueenofDarkness · 22/11/2020 09:28

Can’t stand him. Like Mark Drakeford he seems to have let his power go to his head.

Hayeahnobut · 22/11/2020 09:28

He's weak. He has no opinion of his own, everything he says is the government line. When reporters asked him about Priti Patel, he just kept saying that if Boris says she didn't break the ministerial code, then it must be true. Get some balls man, think for yourself!

GreenlandTheMovie · 22/11/2020 09:29

I know. The comments are disgusting. Yet British people continue to wonder why genuine, empathetic people dont go into politics...

What sane, professional or business person would willingly put their head on the linw, knowing they would subjected to this sort of abuse? You would need the hide of a rhino.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 22/11/2020 09:30

To be fair, how many of us would openly and publicly contradict our boss. Rock and hard place springs to mind, with regard to his opinion on Priti Patel

Lampzade · 22/11/2020 09:41

No one is as horribly odious as JRM. He gives me the rage.

nosswith · 22/11/2020 09:42

Doesn't give me the creeps, I just think he is overpromoted and out of his depth.

Funkypolar · 22/11/2020 09:58

I enjoy reading the comments on Twitter about him. Can’t stand him.

WitchQueenofDarkness · 22/11/2020 10:01

When someone who is quite clearly not up to his job affects my life and is destroying my livelihood I am perfectly entitled to have my say
Rhine · 22/11/2020 10:12

@Maria53

Yes I share your feelings. He gives me a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach in a way the others dont.

While I dont believe in being a psychic or anything both myself, my mother and great grandmother have a sense for things. My first impression of him was that he has done a really bad thing in his past (and I don't just mean your typical Tory bad stuff). He has no boundaries when it comes to women.

Bloody hell, that’s a pretty awful thing to say. You can’t go around saying stuff like that without foundation. Unless you know something we don’t? Or is it just your ‘gut feeling’ again🙄

I’m not a Tory, never will be BTW.
