To feel sorry for Trump?

tartanti · 04/11/2020 21:27

I’ve name changed for this as I know I will get completely flamed. But AIBU to secretly feel a little bit sorry for Trump? He campaigned so hard for this election compared to Biden and seemed to put his absolute all into it.

The amount of hate he gets on social media is astounding - I honestly don’t know how one person can handle all that and keep on going. I would have had a nervous breakdown or worse by now if I was on the receiving end of that.

His kids clearly love him and they seem alright - perhaps he’s not so bad behind the scenes? I think losing this election will destroy him as a person and whilst I don’t agree with his political viewpoint, I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the guy.

AIBU?

If you truly feel like this then you are probably a kind empathetic person.
Trump would definitely not treat you the same way.

Mrsjayy · 04/11/2020 22:00

He laps up "the hate " you do know that he feeds off it, his ego doesn't let him feel anything.

Nancydrawn · 04/11/2020 22:00

WTAF.

Cluelessbeetroot · 04/11/2020 22:01

@Pumperthepumper

I can’t wait until he’s an embarrassing memory in America’s history, and nothing more.
This.

And OP I really hope you’re a troll. I refuse to believe any decent person can truly think like you.

FFS

He's a narcissistic evil bastard who is using his office for personal gain, for himself, his businesses and his family.

Tillymintsmama · 04/11/2020 22:01

He's an absolute nutcase, narcissist, bully, misogynist, vile human being. YAB extremely U!!!!

But he might still win, mightn't he???

user1471565182 · 04/11/2020 22:02

I'd love to hear from Trump supporters- without deflection or whataboutisms or insults or tantrums what they think of him trying to claim he had won the elction when he hadnt and trying to stop getting votes counted.

superoz · 04/11/2020 22:02

I can't tell if this is a sarcastic post or not

MadameButterface · 04/11/2020 22:02

Do you think “do you unequivocally condemn white supremacists?” is a difficult question to answer op? Do you think that anyone who gets the answer to that very simple question wrong is fit to hold office? Come on

tobedtoMNandfart · 04/11/2020 22:02

Your naivity is breathtaking.

Papergirl1968 · 04/11/2020 22:03

Looks like Trump counted his chickens before they hatched when declaring victory...
But really, out of a country of 331 million people, Biden is the best they can come up with? The phrase devil and the deep blue sea comes to mind.

Thecobwebsarewinning · 04/11/2020 22:03

I wouldn’t worry about online abuse having a negative effect on him. He’s a narcissist and so other people’s opinions will not impact on him at all.

Mrsjayy · 04/11/2020 22:03

Trump voters is like some weird cult its really scary he gives people permission to be horrible horrible people.

GADDay · 04/11/2020 22:03

Holy fuck. You feel sorry for him???

He does not have one, single redeeming feature. Literally, I think the worst possible human being (aside from despots & dictators) to be the leader of the free world.

I think you are DEFINITELY being unreasonable GrinGrinConfusedGrinGrin

wellthatsunusual · 04/11/2020 22:04

He does get a lot of hate on social media but he gets a lot of adulation as well. His ego is so immense that he probably barely registers the criticism.

I don't feel any sympathy for him whatsoever, he certainly doesn't feel any for the people he attacks.

Guineapigbridge · 04/11/2020 22:05

I felt sorry for him at 2am in the morning trying to make a speech. And I feel sorry for Melania being described as 'down' and 'grumpy' in the press - it was waaaaaay beyond everyone's bedtime and her husband was talking smack. I would have been massively more grumpy than she was. In fact I probably would've been like, stuff this, I'm off to bed, you clowns can do whatever you like.

Guineapigbridge · 04/11/2020 22:05

Putin wins that prize hands down.

TroysMammy · 04/11/2020 22:05

What happened to that wall he was going to build?

Flutter12 · 04/11/2020 22:06

He ignored a lot of advice regarding COVID whilst campaigning.
I feel more sorry for Biden as he seems to have take the pandemic more seriously and therefore didn’t look like he was campaigning as hard. But he was just trying to make sure people were socially distancing etc

ArabellaScott · 04/11/2020 22:08

He's a misogynist, racist, opportunist, lying, cheating, sleazy, grabby, criminal, horrible, horrible person.

I'm not a fan of Biden and I deplore the whole system, and I'm not vindictive enough to enjoy anyone losing something, but I'm not feeling any sympathy, either.

Absolutely. Putin is both despot & dictator.
Pomegranatemolasses · 04/11/2020 22:08

I feel sorry for us as world citizens, having had to put up with his evil, misogynistic, racist rhetoric over the past four years.

Seriously Op, if there were ever a case of misplaced sympathy this is it!

1stV45 · 04/11/2020 22:09

If I cared I might worry for him, he can't be well.
