To feel sorry for Trump?

I’ve name changed for this as I know I will get completely flamed. But AIBU to secretly feel a little bit sorry for Trump? He campaigned so hard for this election compared to Biden and seemed to put his absolute all into it.

The amount of hate he gets on social media is astounding - I honestly don’t know how one person can handle all that and keep on going. I would have had a nervous breakdown or worse by now if I was on the receiving end of that.

His kids clearly love him and they seem alright - perhaps he’s not so bad behind the scenes? I think losing this election will destroy him as a person and whilst I don’t agree with his political viewpoint, I can’t help but feel slightly sorry for the guy.

YABU. I hope he gets the jail time he so deserves. The fact that the count is anywhere like this close is just a depressing reminder than the political landscape in the west is creeping dangerously to the right every year.

Not even a little bit. He has done so many awful things. Remember when he invited Bill's ex lovers to the Hillary debate to put her off her stride? I can't imagine how that must have made her feel, I'm not even a Clinton fan. Not to mention women, children, black people, poor people, people with health conditions, disabled journalists.

There are in excess of 15,000 children who have been ‘misplaced’ through the ICE facilities, foster system and hostels. They will never be found. Some will be dead, some trafficked, some in line for a lifetime of abuse. He will not acknowledge their existence, let alone their loss. Feel sorry for them.

Well, if you class lying, threatening, corruption, abusing, misusing public funds, colluding with the dodgier elements of the Russian government, abusing ethnic minorities and women, as "putting his absolute all into it" I'd rather have the guy who didn't put that sort of "all" into anything.

Not in the slightest. Do you honestly think he cares what folk like us say about him on social media?! He doesn’t give one about anyone or anything. The man is a narcissistic lunatic. It’s a shame you feel that way. It’s a shame that so many states were red (even if he loses). I’m losing my faith in humanity, I really am.
