@DressingGownofDoom

Every country deserves a calm and dignified leader, hopefully America gets theres and it might set an example for the rest of the world particularly the UK.

@Cacacoisfarraige

There is a lot to take stock of for the Democrats if Biden wins

I noticed a lot of socialism/communism comments which resonated with many voters
Being European I would say we provide a safety net but for some reason many American voters think that’s a quick slide to communism

It shows there is a 20m core of authoritarian loving Americans. The ones who love being told what to do by parents, church, have it beat into them and are not taught to question but are told what to do.
They sit alongside the people with huge drug issues.
The American dream has died for them and it’s like they think voting for Trump means that he might pluck them from obscurity to be his friend because he cares.

There is an ugly underside to America. You see it with the force anyone ‘stepping out of line is treated with ‘- if they’re not White and rich. You see it with the anger people sprew at each other.

There is an uphill struggle for anyone who cares about America

So eloquently put.

I smell a precooked trump strategy too, Trump coming out after the first surprising result that went his way immediately declaring victory, polls wrong, fraud and everything that's unfolded since.

You think he's too chaotic based on his tweets and speeches but it's too coordinated to not have been precooked.

I've actually had someone say to me, they have the freedom not to choose healthcare, and it worked out fine for them.

Copperas · 05/11/2020 10:53

We need a new thread!

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 05/11/2020 10:54

When it comes to looking after Trump's own interests before the country's, he knows exactly what he's doing. This is all about Trump's narcissism. Nothing else. Remember at one point when it suited him, he was a Democrat? He became a Republican because he saw that he got get what he wanted from them. Like Johnson chose Brexit purely for his own ends.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 05/11/2020 10:54

*could get not got get, sorry.

Roussette · 05/11/2020 10:58

Singasonga a fascinating insight there, thank you. Just going to catch up with the rest of the posts since I've been out.

Incidentally, we are nearing the end of this thread, I'm happy to do another one or more than happy for anyone to start Number 109 (just don't want to 'lose' anyone in the transit)

If someone doesn't do one, I will as it gets toward 1000

Any chance you could get MNHQ to add #109 to your thread title so any stragglers realises which group of threads it is?

As the new thread disappeared?

The link doesnt open to me? Did Trump take a case about it to court?

CaveMum · 05/11/2020 17:00

@CherryValanc The title was edited so the old link doesn’t work now!
