Trump exiled to Scotland? He's like a cup of cold sick here. Let's hope the next 25 hours put Trump to bed with his pacifier!

DH is still anxious, I'm more convinced. Biden was the right pick - look at the Senate and Congress races, without significant electoral reform very hard for a non middle of the road type to win.

Let's not forget Biden's VP was a progressive pick.

Roussette Grin it’s Jane Godley in that pic I think.

We are anxious here but DH's numbers are still ok. Its tight but its more a hold your nerve thing still at this stage.

Trump could still win, but Biden has to have multiple things gone wrong and against what seems to be happening (rather than being a polling error). This is following the data patterns of the actual vote.

Biden has been getting 60%+ consistently in GA and PA. In Georgia he needs 66%+ of remaining ballots but the counties that are still counting are heavy blue. Fulton has been producing 80% batches for Biden.

So hold your nerve.

This is unlikely to be resolved today too i suspect. We might be a lot more confident of who has won but we are definitely into the realms of recounts and legal challenges because of how tight its shaping up.

This Atlantic article depressingly sums up my own feelings.

*Jaichangecentfoisdenom bloody hell you ARE desparate! Grin

I've been (trying) to sleep as normal, knowing these next few days will be the real kicker. I can't believe how tight it is! I'm so nervous.

one question I have is that I seem to remember that Obama struggled to get any real change because of the senate and the house - will that be the same this time, looking at how tight those have become?

SunniCameHomeWithAVengeance · 05/11/2020 08:48

Oh fuck I'm not far from his golf course in Ireland. Might go slurry spreading right beside it.

Anniegetyourgun · 05/11/2020 08:48

Is it just me (and possibly Michael Moore) suspecting the voting machines in states where the Representative results were surprising? It wouldn't be the first time (allegedly).

Sexnotgender · 05/11/2020 08:50

He better not come to Scotland. I’m no fan of Nipolean but hopefully she’ll tell him to fuck off.

lionheart · 05/11/2020 08:51

@Delphinium20

We are driving out of the city now to stay in a remote cabin and we have to drive through Trumpland to get there and frankly it's scary cause there's so much aggressive driving with monster trucks. We should be out of it in a hour or so but ugh. Don't remember this AT ALL the last time we drove this route.
Take care Delphinium20 and all those Stateside.

This is footage from an official poll watcher in PA telling what it was like with the Republican poll watchers querying every single democrat vote.

No wonder counting is taking so long

Yes, I don’t expect anything much this election to see any changes . The house is too divided

Like the good book says: house divided against itself will not stand

Trump supporters chanting ‘Count the votes!’ in Arizona and ‘Stop the count!’ in Michigan sums it all up perfectly. It’s the most obvious manifestation of his regime’s successful assault on objective truth, waved through by much of the media on both sides of the Atlantic.

Well he does have land in Scotland, he is going to enjoy his socialist new home

No way José He is most definitely not wanted by us.

anon444877 · 05/11/2020 09:01

No Biden faces an uphill battle but he's the right person to try and reunite if it can be done.

Some religious voters really did back trump on the basis of hoping to get abortion overturned now the Supreme Court is packed. Hard for us to understand single religious issue politics like that in Europe these days but it definitely exists.

Trump cynically shored up the religious vote with his Supreme Court picks.
