To think that Trump is not going to get re-elected?

Anon778833 · 23/10/2020 20:27

There are still a few fringe types who think he’s going to get a landslide victory.

Personally I find this unlikely.

Any MNers from across the pond have a view more informed than myself?

All the scaremongerers were predicting an Armageddon nuclear war if Trump won last time. Didn't happen.

MerchantOfVenom · 27/10/2020 17:43

I follow Michael Moore closely.

I haven’t actually seen him come out and say he thinks Trump is going to win the election this time.

Anyone got a link to that, please?

Exactly and think about how other people realise this too.

I read it more that he was sounding the alarm. The article is from the end of August so the situation will have changed. Haven't seen anything more recent about this from MM.

user1471565182 · 27/10/2020 17:53

Who was seriously predicting armageddon and nuclear war exactly? names?

blueangel19 · 27/10/2020 17:58

Hillary Clinton to begin with

user1471565182 · 27/10/2020 17:59

And yeah im getting a bit fed up with the 'well you were nasty to us so i voted like that' crap. (played brilliant by Nikki 'Startled Owl/G. Osbourne in a Wig' Morgan the other day) Bullshit. You voted out of hatred and self-interest. Its like Stewart Lee said, its like shitting in a hotel bed to complain about bad service then having to sleep in the shitty bed.

I saw one Trump voter in the new york times complaining about him, saying 'he hurting the wrong people'. That phrase right there sums up Trump supporters thinking.

No sympathy for them, brexiters, Conservative voters all the way up to those who democratically voted in Hitler. Democracy is not sacred andbeyond reproach.

FOJN: why I'm not permitted to speculate about the mainstream media? Are opinions not allowed now? Your suggestion that I'm "out of order" in doing so is bizarre. My only posture is one of frustration with media bias which is pretty heavily weighted against Trump. I say that as an impartial observer from the other side of the pond. I am not politically aligned with Conservatives so have no agenda in expressing that opinion.
The survival of the deliberately framed stories by the MSM relies on readers/viewers not venturing away and doing their own research. It's a case of trust us we know what's best, don't look there, we'll tell you the truth. There is a very fragile reality that is created for their captured audiences, anyone who challenges this must be excommunicated lest they "convert" any one else. That's why stories are deliberately framed to evoke an emotional reaction, no rational thought is required. Like the Washington Post laptop story you mentioned earlier, to people capable of critical thinking it is absolute nonsense, but to a captured person it is the Washington Post so I will trust it no questions asked (P.S. the reason the WP had to do the story is that many news outlets now have copies of hard drives and are planning when to drop stories for maximum effect/damage).

user1471565182 · 27/10/2020 18:01

Thats not what she said is it....

THis is what we're talking about. You can have the hard facts written down infront of you butr you'll still lie you yourself and others. Ask yourself why you have to lie to protect something perhaps.

blueangel19 · 27/10/2020 18:04

It is what she implied?

user1471565182 · 27/10/2020 18:41

She talked about taking into mind who would have the codes for a nation which has thousands and thousand of nuclear weapons. She did not say 'Trump will cause nuclear war' That was a lie.

He did however bomb a neutral nations general on extremely unstable territory taking the US to the brink of war with Iran

The media handling of the Hunter Biden story is interesting. It would seem prudent to double/triple check the veracity of a story before publication, especially important given the timing with the election but it was twitters deletion of any links to the original NY Post article which started to happened on the day of publication which is most worrying. Their argument that they wouldn't allow links to an article which included information obtained from private property didn't add up; it's inconsistent with their previous behaviour and the laptop had been technically and legally abandoned which means it became the property of the shop owner to do with as he pleased. The contents were obviously concerning enough for him to worry about incurring any liability from its possession and hand it over to the FBI; taking a copy the hard drive for insurance.

The Biden campaign have not commented as far as I can tell but Hunter Biden's lawyer has asked for it to be returned which would seem to confirm Hunter Biden was the owner who took it for repair and then forgot about it.

Why are other media outlets so reluctant to cover it? If it was Trump it would be getting non-stop coverage.

The strength of emotion being generated by the way the media reports is worrying, how many people are considering what they read, standing back and asking if the story is plausible and seeking out more information before they reach a conclusion?

ListeningQuietly · 27/10/2020 19:27

If Trump wins the USA will backslide on Climate Change to the detriment of the whole world.

All else pales into insignificance.

colouringindoors · 27/10/2020 19:39

yes Sad

colouringindoors · 27/10/2020 19:57

Anyone watching ch4 news? Johnstone, Pennsylvania Chilling. Locals interviewed: "Silent majority" will ensure another Trump win, "red wave". People and children convinced Covid is a Hoax and if Biden wins they're moving to Canada because he'll take their constitution and guns away. Some very scary individuals, parents, ordinary people.

BelleHathor · 27/10/2020 20:10

Hunter's lawyer asking for it back is corroboration of sorts. They can't comment as they do not know what exactly the media outlets have on the drives and it could be incriminating if ever prosecuted. The reporters who have it have contacted people in the 25'000 emails to corroborate its authenticity. Plus there are thousands of pictures and videos of Hunter on it, hard to deny. Hunter's former partner (now in jail for one of their schemes) has flipped and given access to an investigative reporter thejewishvoice.com/2020/10/beyond-hunters-macbook-email-account-of-his-ex-busines-partner-reveals-high-level-chinese-group-bought-hidden-access-to-biden-at-the-white-house/. Another Tony Bobulinski has confirmed that Joe Biden is the "Big Guy" from the "10% for the Big Guy comment" www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8882349/Hunter-Bidens-former-business-partner-Tony-Bobulinski-set-reveal-new-allegations-Bidens.html. It's all being timed to do the maximum damage.

Why are other media outlets so reluctant to cover it? If it was Trump it would be getting non-stop coverage.
It is the nuclear option, report on it and Joe Biden automatically loses.
The emails are pay for play, selling access to countries which could be considered not to be in US interests (Ukraine, Russia and China). Facilitating companies in China controlled by the CCP to buy US companies justthenews.com/accountability/political-ethics/how-hunter-biden-tied-hedge-fund-helped-communist-china-obtain.
In the texts Hunter talks about having to give %50 of his income to Joe. It's pure corruption, the FBI had the laptop for a year showing the abuse of an underage family member, instead of helping her they held the laptop for leverage. Texts also show that family members knew too. Also if Joe used his drug addicted son as a conduit to make shady deals instead of getting him treatment it doesn't say much for his character.

colouringindoors · 27/10/2020 20:13

Is this the equivalent of Hilary's emails? And will it have the same effect?

HoldMyLobster · 27/10/2020 20:20

@colouringindoors

It’s an attempt to repeat Hillary’s emails. It’s not having the same effect, no.

A notable difference is that it’s not being used in Trump’s campaign ads. If there was really any truth to it then that seems odd, no?

HoldMyLobster · 27/10/2020 20:22

And btw I will be so glad to never see another political ad again after the election. Literally every ad I see at this point no matter where I go. I’m getting them on Mumsnet.

Actually he threatened to use it on North Korea

thanks, I'll take a little comfort in that.
