.... you can stick your fucking Tier 3 up your arse. Sideways.

If I can flout it, then I fucking well will!

Malteserdiet · 21/10/2020 11:14

Oh and then we need to stop calling each other selfish and arguing on social media and actually turn our attention to the governments who have pressed our NHS into such a state of disrepair and preparedness that we don’t have enough space or staff to treat people during the winter virus system

midgebabe · 21/10/2020 11:14

The government is the issue

They have failed to implement a working test trace and isolate system which means cases keep rising and lockdowns follow

midgebabe · 21/10/2020 11:16

Not doing other than average?!

We have almost the highest death rate and most impacted economy of all Europe

That's not about average

TheDuchessofMalfy · 21/10/2020 11:16

Really feel for you OP. The whole thing is really shit, and sometimes our mental health does feel unable to cope.

I don’t think you’re right to just flout it, but I see someone who’s MH can’t take any more in your post.

Can you get some counselling to help you? Do you have anyone nearby who you can turn to?

FatimaMunchy · 21/10/2020 11:19

User the OP didn't come across as entitled to me, just very fed up with it all.

TheDuchessofMalfy · 21/10/2020 11:20

I think it’s a well known form of torture to let a prisoner think they are escaping / think it’s over and then send them back in again. I think that’s why it’s affected people so much.

GirlCrush · 21/10/2020 11:23

when did we become so weak....its embarrassing

disabled people are shining through this pandemic, they are showing us (from what i've seen in my community and in my work) how its done....you carry on and see it through, not give up at the first hurdle.

you've hardly given it a chance

Originalyellowbelly · 21/10/2020 11:23

I get where you're coming from OP, I have only been in two shops since March, stuck at home with my WFH 'D'H who is driving me mad and 3 poorly cats. My DD is coming to visit next week, I haven't seen her and my DGD since the beginning of Jan as they live 6hrs drive away. We are in tier one at the moment and it's bad enough for me, it must be so awful for you but please hang in there, surely this shit can't last forever. Have some Gin Flowers Wine Cake or whatever helps.

GirlCrush · 21/10/2020 11:25

so op, whats going to be your first act of 'rebellion' then? what are you going to do thats against the rules and guidelines?

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:25

Thank you.

I know that I'm not right to flout it. To be honest, it'll be difficult to do anyway.

Yes, I have a small circle of very high quality friends. To be honest, posting on here has been strangely cathartic. Maybe it was all that was needed.

I'd quite like to get some of my young, pretty men friends around - if that's alright with you Smile

maybe they won't want to come round though? maybe they have a bit of respect for others?

Facelikearustytractor · 21/10/2020 11:30

You know we would have a pandemic now even if Corbyn were currently in power? This would never be an easy situation to govern.

There is always one who mentions Corbyn isn't there?

Although I do agree with this statement to an extent. Difficult situation and not sure what the answer is. We have to save people's jobs, or at least have a decent welfare system to fall back on and plans to get people back in work as soon as possible. It is all looking to be pretty disjointed and fucked though and I really do wonder whether these restrictions are a mistake and it will send many people into poverty. The knock on effect of that is huge and so much will be lost, including lives, long term health problems. People are naïve if they think lockdown only saves lives, it indirectly loses them too, it's just harder to quantify as the effects on the economy haven't hit yet.

The more people feel shafted (many if them felt this way before COVID) the more compliance will be low, so we have businesses going to the wall and people losing jobs, but minimal effect on cases and deaths if people are just socialising elsewhere. It's seems much more of a gamble now, than back in the spring.

The reality is, we just don't know how many lives would be have been saved from lockdown. The estimates around deaths have varied vastly between experts. We will never know if it has been worth it.

@GroundAlmonds

Stop bloody using the Corbyn excuse

Corbyn would NOT have missed several Cobra meetings to naff off on holiday
Corbyn would NOT have taken a bung to allow Cheltenham races to carry on
Corbyn would NOT have stopped the furlough scheme just as places are plunged back into the continuation of the first wave (because we never really left the first wave)
Corbyn would NOT have allowed vulnerable elderly people to be sent whilst still infectious back to their care homes to spread the virus further
And Corbyn certainly would NOT have given millions of pounds of public money to his mates for apps and PHE and other resources that failed or didn't exist
If Corbyn had of got in in 2017 the NHS would not have been desperately under invested in

So no, Corbyn would still have had a pandemic to deal with, but it's categorically not the case he would have made an absolute shower of it like Boris
In fact I think I can safely say my neighbours 3 legged half blind cat would've dealt with it better than Boris

GroundAlmonds · 21/10/2020 11:33

Huh? Why aren’t I allowed to mention Corbyn? Isn’t that what OP is getting at? That Jezza would have done better than Boris?

Oh and you agree with me anyway but I still shouldn’t mention Corbyn? Grin

Sarahsah4r4 · 21/10/2020 11:33

Anger and bloodymindedness is completely understandable
However it tends to be counterproductive ☹️
I understand that you're suffering Opie but I don't know what the answer is ☹️

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:34

maybe they won't want to come round though? maybe they have a bit of respect for others?

Ha. They never want to come round: Covid hasn't changed that Grin

My mental health has taken a battering too.

I still follow the rules. Because my shit mental health is no excuse to be a selfish dick.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:35

And, as a general rule, I have a lot of respect for others. I'm just struggling at the moment. I'll process, internalise and sort myself out Blush

OP posts:
GroundAlmonds · 21/10/2020 11:37

Stop bloody using the Corbyn excuse

What makes you think it’s an “excuse”? Smile

We would have Corbyn as PM now if we hadn’t had Boris and they would both be equally hopeless in different ways. JC is terminally indecisive and would have been a disaster at the pandemic stuff. Boris is just flip floppy.

Starmer I actually have some faith in, god help me, but no turn of events would have had him as PM this year. Maybe next year. Wink

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:37

Because my shit mental health is no excuse to be a selfish dick.

That's great. But .... I am not you!

OP posts:
NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:38

And anyway, at the time of writing, I've followed the rules. All of them!

You’re getting stick for rule flouting because you announced your intention to flout them in your opening post!

Find yourself some chocolate and some distraction and give yourself a break from the internet. You’re obviously frazzled. Flowers

Sarahsah4r4 · 21/10/2020 11:40

I think it's Human nature, just wanting to shout 'FUCK YOU YOU BASTARDS!!!'
you feel so angry that you just want it to backfire on them so that they feel some pain and you don't care if it hurts you at the same time as long as they feel some pain
This is human nature, the will to live, to fight back when it feels like someone is trying to crush you.
But following our immediate angry impulses tends not to lead to good long-term outcomes☹️

acatcalledjohn · 21/10/2020 11:43

This throwing around of mental health as an excuse for shitty behaviour makes a mockery of mental health conditions.

And I'm sick of it. I'm sick of not being able to visit my parents. I'm sick of people flouting the rules and making this last longer than it needs to. I'm sick of people using Cummings et al as an excuse to ignore the rules, like true sheep unable to think for themselves. I'm sick of hearing stories of elderly people wasting away alone because of people putting their right to go and socialise in the pub above everything else.

If only we stuck to the rules more perhaps those elderly, ill and infirm people could have more interaction when it matters the most.

But no. Me me me.

Narcissism is alive and well.
