I make no apologise for getting angry and people who think the rules don’t apply to them

I'm perfectly aware that the rules apply to me. I'm not coping with the restrictions. I'm human and frail. To those who can with this, then .... I admire you: you're stronger than I am

@KenDodd

At least when that SNP MP flouted the rules she was kicked out of the party (and hopefully will be prosecuted)
You are behind the times. The police are not prosecuting her. She has refused to resign and is still an MP, albeit it not for the SNP. All is quiet. She will beaver away quietly now and, when the pandemic is over, I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't regain her place in the SNP.

quarentini · 21/10/2020 10:53

I get you op.
For the government to push people to the point of financial and mental instability is beyond bad.
I won't flaunt the rules but the rules make no sense!
We followed lockdown..didn't work
We followed tier 2 ..didn't work
Now on tier 3 .... won't work

People's life's are crumbling!
Rules make no sense.
Can see Nan in a forest but not in a cafe but I can can go in a cafe full of strangers?!
Fuck you Boris !

Nope. That's a cop out. We're ALL struggling. No one likes this. You don't get to sit back and say, I can't do it, I'm not as strong as you are.

Do your bit like everyone else or face the consequences. And I'm not talking about a fine, I mean the larger consequence of more restrictions and more deaths.

We are all human and frail. None of us were designed to live like this. Sometimes life is shit and you just need to struggle on and do your bit.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 10:58

You have no partner, no children

Really?

OP posts:
Youandmeareluckytobeus · 21/10/2020 10:58

I'm sorry. But .... if you knew me, you'd absolutely know that I am in no way entitled. I'm frail and struggling to cope - for the very first time in life. It's something that I haven't experienced before.
Then you should have just come on here and said that and you might have got more sympathetic responses. The fact that you came on with a sweary rant, railing against the Govt and then responding childishly hasn't shown you in the best light. I'm sorry that you are struggling but try and engage your brain before you put your fingers on the keypads.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 10:59

You don't get to sit back and say, I can't do it, I'm not as strong as you are.

Well, I do get to say it. I said it. I stand by it.

My mental health is shot to pieces. I'm not able to engage my brain. Just because you can, it doesn't mean that I can. We're all different.

I have in general followed the rules but I did see my parents in their home when we shouldnt have ( some point in late summer), it was the 2nd time ive seen them this year. We are in tier 3 and I wont see them again for the forseeable future.
HOWEVER, i think the rules are a complete shit show. For example, our local pub now serves food and you book 2 hour reservation...why is it safe for me to eat there for 2 hours but not to just sit and have a drink?.
In Blackpool theres a large amusement arcade - the adult gaming area is shut but the family section is open (according to the Blackpool guy who was on the news).
And theres lots more rules that I cant make sense of but im bored of it all now....i totally understand why people are struggling.

Legallyblondeee · 21/10/2020 11:01

Just gone into tier 3 here also.
I won’t be following the rules as I have before now right down to the letter.
Instead I will be moving in with my parents. Leaving my DH in a single person household and then he can form a support bubble with us. Fuck having to choose between the people I love the most. I’ve worked all the way through this pandemic and whilst I don’t believe that the virus isn’t dangerous. I do believe that if I am expected to go into the office where my parents also work as essential workers for 8 hours a day I can bloody well go over for a cup of tea.

Heidi1976 · 21/10/2020 11:02

@ColleagueFromMars

The tiers of lockdown are a massive face that don't go nearly far enough.

Everybody is weary. The virus doesn't give a damn. A healthy - as in super healthy 33 year old healthy and fitness blogger died. Yes our economy is screwed way beyond what I can even imagine. I'm highly worried about that and the impact a crashed economy will have, particularly as we fucking crash out of the EU without a deal.

I'm not sure what sticking two fingers up to the government about tier 3 restrictions is going to do to help anything. This bloody virus is about to go super speed through our population this winter, regardless of which tier we are in because the restrictions are bullshit.

Erm actually, no he wasn't. The man clearly abused anabolic steroids and he died of complications relating to his cardiovascular system which is known to take a beating from years of steroid abuse. The media missed that little snippet out though didn't it!
Ironfloor269 · 21/10/2020 11:02

I hope the idiots who elected this bunch of lunatics to power are.now happy.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:02

And I stand by my 'sweary rant'. We have people at the top who have absolutely no idea what they're doing!

OP posts:
Sirzy · 21/10/2020 11:02

Then seek support for your mental health but don’t be selfish and make things worse for everyone.

The only way through this is to work together.

Like I said before my mental health is shot. It’s getting worse daily because of the battles I face being made worse by the current situation. Lots of people are struggling. That doesn’t make you above the rules though

Malteserdiet · 21/10/2020 11:03

Amen!! @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace

People who didn’t show any symptoms to a virus used to be called “immune” now we are all diseased.

This ludicrous and relentless pursuit of a bloody microscopic virus that with the best will in the world can’t really be contained is causing so much damage to so many people, mentally, physically and financially. It has to STOP!

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:04

@Legallyblondeee

I'm with you. All the way.

OP posts:
NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:05

I know. But I do have some support on here, for which .... thank you Flowers

Moonmelodies · 21/10/2020 11:06

I guess if people can't be 'bovvered' with Tier 3 then our leaders will have to introduce a Tier 4.

Youandmeareluckytobeus · 21/10/2020 11:08

People's life's are crumbling!
Rules make no sense.
Can see Nan in a forest but not in a cafe but I can can go in a cafe full of strangers?!
The cafe should have taken measures to minimise covid. Staff should be wearing masks. Everyone else should enter wearing masks and only remove them when seated at their table which should be 2m apart from the next people (or 1m+ if there are other measures like screens between tables). If the cafe hasn't taken measures to minimise covid transmission they should be reported and will be made to close down unless they do so.

If in tier 3 you still have to be socially-distanced from non-household members, even in a forest but the risk outside is less than meeting up with her indoors.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 21/10/2020 11:09

I guess if people can't be 'bovvered' with Tier 3 then our leaders will have to introduce a Tier 4.

Wouldn't put it past 'em. But .... it's gonna lead to a winter of civil unrest.

OP posts:
JaceLancs · 21/10/2020 11:09

Already in tier 3 and not much has changed
I refuse to WFH unless it becomes law
At least pool and gym are still open - I’ve got used to not being able to do much else

goldenharvest · 21/10/2020 11:12

i don't think we can blame a pandemic on the government. Most similar European countries are in the same boat, so we're not doing anything other than average.

MereDintofPandiculation · 21/10/2020 11:12

I can't spread a fucking virus that I haven't got. Do you really think many people have been spreading a virus they know they have? Most of the spreading is by people who didn't know they had it.

Malteserdiet · 21/10/2020 11:12

Yes tier 4 - get rid of all of these rules, make decisions based on deaths/serious hospital cases rather than cases involving thousands of asymptotic people and false positives and accept that as much as we don’t like it, viruses strong enough to kill people do exist. Then we need to realise that will have to, and are able to, to live with it just like all the others that exist, without destroying people’s mental health, family and friend support networks, finances and large swathes of industries.

emilyfrost · 21/10/2020 11:12

I’m so embarrassed for you. You can cope, you’re just pretending you can’t because you don’t want to follow the rules because you’re entitled and selfish.

The government isn’t the issue, it’s people like you that are prolonging these restrictions.
