Mystified by tiny gussets. Is there - is there something wrong with my undercarriage?

Never been able to understand how anyone could bear to wear thong-type pants. I've always just thought -surely they must ride up and get into - the bit you don't want interfered with by your clothing??? Never understood it.

Anyhow, I sent for some M&S pants. Look like normal pants. Nice soft fabric. Comfy. Put them on, head out for the day. And -- oh dear, turns out they have a mystifyingly narrow gusset with the consequences I would think were entirely predictable. Not comfy after all! Much hitching down required Grin And there wasn't even a warning!!!

Just - why?

Have I got a weird-shaped fanny? Is it unusually lacking in firmness? Is it in the wrong place?? How does anyone wear these things??

I've found my people! I thought I was completely odd shaped. And possibly I still am as almost all boyshort/midi/full brief styles still go up my bum. (How??)

Anyway it's another vote for Thunderpants from me. They are expensive but definitely stay where they are supposed to. And they don't cut my tummy bulge in half either so double win.

Yet to try them but I've just bought a pair of the Rosie lounge knickers Hmm from M&S and they LOOK comfy...

@MilkTwoSugarsThanks

Tbh I have the opposite problem.

I mean, why the fuck are sanitary towels the width of the English Channel?

You are not wrong! It's ridiculous how W-I-D-E sanitary towels are. They must have been designed by someone who has never (and I mean never) had a period in their life! They are the result of what happens when someone reads a medical textbook's chapter on "menstruation" and then runs with it. The extra k(n)icker is when the sticky wings (or whatever they're called?) get super glue style stuck to one's short and curlies (not everyone wants a fanny like a 10 year old girl's, I'm a woman deal with it goddamnyou!).

@toconclude I wear men’s trunks I’m a size 8-10 and find Sainsbury’s small are perfect, I choose the ones without a handy hole and the pouch isn’t noticeable. I am going to try the oldest boys see how they are too. Legs don’t roll up and no VPL
Women’s boy shorts are NOT trunks - I like trunks :)

Thanks to this thread I am a total convert to Sloggi. So comfortable! No arse crack flossing!

Baxterbear · 29/10/2020 20:43

Does anyone know what a period cup is? I heard it mentioned today and my imagination is recoiling in utter horror at the thought of a bone china cup bunged up my
delicates once a month......ewwwwww!

inappropriateraspberry · 29/10/2020 21:44

I have purchased some Asda midi knickers! Bigger than I expected but so comfy! I didn't have to adjust my gusset once whilst wearing.

A period cup is a menstrual cup - made of silicon and you sort of fold it and put it in. It pops open and is washable and reusable. Good for the environment and cheaper in the long run.

Re. caesarian scars and knickers.
I am old you see, great granny now. I have had two caesarians done with the longitudinal classic incision. It starts just below my belly button and goes downwards.Silly vain me put up with wearing g string type pants for years afterwards because I refused to wear big granny pants. The elastic digged in like hell and the scar itched like mad.
Now I am in the waist high granny pants it is sheer heaven.Vanity s terrible.

floofycroissant · 03/11/2020 09:47

I've just purchased Uniqlo high legs and they're satisfyingly wide.

I wear teen brand sanpro to avoid feeling like I'm waddling 😳

PerkingFaintly · 03/11/2020 09:54

Ahh @Baxterbear, search MN threads for menstrual cup. Many, many fans on here – although also some people for whom they're just not the right answer.

Perking thank you, I look forward to educating myself as I admit my knowledge of menstrual cups is extremely lacking! 💖
