Weird neighbour

He's painted his drive swimming pool blue !!! It clashes with his recently painted garage door (which is actually a really nice shade of sage green). He sanded the paving slabs before he painted those as well. I see it as soon as I get out of bed in a morning and I can see the blue if I'm stood in my kitchen. It's hideous. He's a laughing stock. Everyone walking past are talking about it.

OP posts:

Nothing wrong with a bit of eccentricity!

vanillandhoney · 13/09/2020 13:52

@WhoAmIWhoAreYou

Hahaha. All those people that are saying they love it etc.. are full of BS! They wouldn't "love" it, if they had to look at it every bloody day.
Well, as I don't spend my time standing by my window staring at my neighbours house, why would it matter what colour it was painted?!
vanillandhoney · 13/09/2020 13:53

@MissMaple82

I think its hideous! And I think most of these people commenting on how fun he is would be pissed if he lived opposite them!
Why? Do you spend your days at your window staring at the neighbours?
FAQs · 13/09/2020 14:08

Handy as a focus point for directing couriers and deliveries. I quite like it!

ItchyScratch · 13/09/2020 14:26

The houses look like Privet Drive (Harry Potter)

FelicisNox · 13/09/2020 18:00

Loving all the comments pretending there's nothing wrong and everyone is being judgey: these liars would HATE it if they lived next to that and we all know it.

GTFOH

I WOULD happily live next door to that drive. So you can fuck off with assuming we're all like you.

Did the photo get deleted? I can’t seem to find it

Yes, it's the "message withdrawn at OP's request" post.
Smallsteps88 · 13/09/2020 18:09

Yep OP has finally had a pang of decency and had it removed.

D4rwin · 13/09/2020 18:11

Better than greyge I saw, with horror, an article where a woman had gone so lockdown stir crazy that she'd taken the grey obsession out into her garden, with various grey slabs a bench a wall etc.

I can't stand the houses in complete dingy monochrome, so miserable. At least he's brightening the place up.

CatSmith · 13/09/2020 18:12

Meh! I couldn’t even be arsed to give a moments thought to how my neighbour paints his outside space.

somthinginthewoodshed · 13/09/2020 18:12

or to add to BargeBill19, his inner Lifeguard

Purplealienpuke · 13/09/2020 18:26

He so needs a penguin 🐧 bollard or too for his swimming pool 😂
Maybe you can be the stealth Banksy in your street? A different marine creature each time? In chalk of course. How long before you get caught? We could take bets... 😂

Arthersleep · 13/09/2020 18:38

This reminds me of an excellent book, "All Quiet on the Orient Express" by Magnus Mills about an elderly chap and a bet involving cans of paint!

MrsPumpkinPie · 13/09/2020 18:41

You need to read 'The Big Orange Splot' by Daniel Pinkwater. Best childrens' book EVER! He's your neighbour.

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 13/09/2020 18:44

I hope he paints lanes on it. Or does a life size “Bigger Splash”. Tell us, does he have floppy blonde hair, a Yorkshire accent and big round specs?

LyndaSnellsSniff · 13/09/2020 18:50

Someone I know is about to install purple AstroTurf in their front garden.

I didn’t even know it came in purple.

MarissaMaypole · 13/09/2020 18:55

"Everyone walking past are talking about it"? Your grammar's a laughing stock OP!

Meeeh · 13/09/2020 18:58

The best thing about owning my own house is that I can do wtf I like. Mind your own business Hyacinth Bucket.

IsaMatilda · 13/09/2020 19:39

Live and let live I say

WorkHardPlayHard1 · 13/09/2020 19:46

Need the pic!?! Its gone. PS I agree with you before I see it! I love bright colours but over the years have toned them all down in the house and exterior so they look classy and calming. Stick to bright colours for kids or if you're trying to look youthful 👀🌈🏡x

Ha, I love that book! The Restraint of Beasts is excellent too.

Nobody else has ever heard of it though Grin

BluePeterVag · 13/09/2020 19:48

Can you buy some whole fish from the supermarket and fling them on the drive?

confused107 · 13/09/2020 19:52

@GinisLife either we are neighbours, or this is a very strange coincidence. Someone one our street has done exactly the same...
