Weird neighbour

He's painted his drive swimming pool blue !!! It clashes with his recently painted garage door (which is actually a really nice shade of sage green). He sanded the paving slabs before he painted those as well. I see it as soon as I get out of bed in a morning and I can see the blue if I'm stood in my kitchen. It's hideous. He's a laughing stock. Everyone walking past are talking about it.

OP posts:
AdventureCode · 12/09/2020 20:52

I wonder what he'll paint next...

HorsePellets · 12/09/2020 20:53

I like it.
And it wouldn’t bother me AT ALL living next to it.

Tuck your nose back behind your nets.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/09/2020 20:54

Maybe he can’t see very well, and the blue drive is like some kind of car landing strip.

Not for a car he's driving himself, then, I hope....

CausingChaos2 · 12/09/2020 20:54

It’s hideous, but quite funny really. Smile

WitchDancer · 12/09/2020 20:54

Maybe he's tired of no one finding his house? Now he can say it's the house with a blue drive...

GetTheDoorFrank · 12/09/2020 20:55

Doesnt look that bad at all tbh

xoxogossipgirl2020 · 12/09/2020 20:55

🤣 I have a similar strange neighbour who has painting his driveway/garden wall swimming pool blue from a bizarre shade of bright green! If he had a garage I would have thought it was the same neighbour!

JoeCalFuckingZaghe · 12/09/2020 20:55

The landlord might have given permission for the driveway to be painted. It's better thank a manky driveway.

WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll · 12/09/2020 20:58

Maybe he's tired of no one finding his house? Now he can say it's the house with a blue drive...

Yep. And even though they might hate it, the neighbours will probably be doingt the same - "Yes, it's just before/three doors down from/directly across the road from the blue drive"!

Aridane · 12/09/2020 20:58

Brilliantly bonkers

Votesforpedro · 12/09/2020 20:59

I think it's unkind to label someone a laughing stock because of the colour of their drive.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 12/09/2020 20:59

I think it's going to start looking quite scrappy very quickly. I don't know any paint that's designed to be driven on. The tyres are going to leave marks and there is always a point or two on every driveway that gets extra wear where the steering wheel is turned to enter/leave, the paint will probably wear away at that point.

StoneofDestiny · 12/09/2020 21:01

It's hideous! I wouldn't want to live next to it.
I bet the owners will go bonkers - why does anybody paint a drive?

YummyInMyTummy · 12/09/2020 21:03

It’s horrific. Agree with @Yarboosucks.

PerveenMistry · 12/09/2020 21:05

Blue drive looks hideous. I'd be irked.

Your drive is fine. Better a few weeds than saturated with poison.

badacorn · 12/09/2020 21:06

Perhaps he did it to piss you all off.

MiniMum97 · 12/09/2020 21:09

I agree OP. It looks awful. Perhaps it's an undercoat? Odd thing to do, paint your drive? Is it not just going to get mucky and Wien really quickly with a car being driven over it??

Cribbins · 12/09/2020 21:10

I reckon he’s trying to make it into a disabled bay. Is there an issue with people parking over/in driveways on your street?

Intrepidintrovert · 12/09/2020 21:11

It's a monstrosity, OP. The people who say a few weeds in any way comparable are smoking some weeds themselves I think!

Staffy1 · 12/09/2020 21:12

It will be useful for giving directions to your house in future - "just opposite the blue driveway".

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/09/2020 21:12

@Lockheart

If he's a laughing stock then you and your other neighbours really need to get out more.
We aren't allowed to go out very much these days.

We have to make our own entertainment and be grateful that some eejit is prepared to paint his drive for our amusement.

Can you thank him for me, please OP?

YellowandGreenToBeSeen · 12/09/2020 21:13

I like it. And (to quote the OP) I ain’t lying.

SchadenfreudePersonified · 12/09/2020 21:14

When my Celtic-supporter son lived at home he painted the garage door green and white stripes.

It made our house very easy to find.

vanillandhoney · 12/09/2020 21:17

Ooh, I like it! It's cheerful.

Much better than everyone's homes looking identical.

WhoAmIWhoAreYou · 12/09/2020 21:22

Hahaha. All those people that are saying they love it etc.. are full of BS! They wouldn't "love" it, if they had to look at it every bloody day.
