Weird neighbour

He's painted his drive swimming pool blue !!! It clashes with his recently painted garage door (which is actually a really nice shade of sage green). He sanded the paving slabs before he painted those as well. I see it as soon as I get out of bed in a morning and I can see the blue if I'm stood in my kitchen. It's hideous. He's a laughing stock. Everyone walking past are talking about it.

You wouldn't be happy living by it.

Naaa, OP, your post wasn't lighthearted, it was sneering and judgemental. Don't try to rewrite history. But if you have time to judge your neighbour, you have time to sort out the weeds on your fuggly, drive!

Honestly not wanting to bring the thread down but my dad did that due to Alzheimers. He painted his driveway the path and up the side of the house as far as he could reach. Not saying that is what your neighbour is doing but it was such a bizarre thing to do! My mum was exasperated!

I used to live in a part of Bristol where everyone painted their terraced houses different colours and it was lovely! I now live on a terrace where we can't paint our houses as they're all in local stone, but we all have brick extensions around our back yards, and - again - everyone has painted the end of those (which look out on the shared lane) in different colours. No discussion at all - it has just happened. And, again, it is really cheering to see the different colours. So, I'd suggest you embrace this and possibly join in!!

It's not his own property. They rent it. He'd painted it with black tarmac before and it looked nice.

I really don't care that he rents. I think the landlord might care if they saw it though. I know they rent because I know who owns it. They live abroad
