Lovehoney calling open crotch knickers "schoolgirl"?

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 21:09

Was I BU to submit a review to Lovehoney for the name of this product on their site. (Schoolgirl open back knickers) .
I've called them out on this in their review section.
Just appalling that a site like that which is for adults would use such a term. It's the last time I buy anything from them.

Given that they're listed on an adult sex toy site I think YABU. I'm sure there are plenty of people that role play the sexy school girl. Assuming consensual adults take part in this there isn't an issue.

Lolwhat · 23/08/2020 21:21

I think they just meant the pattern as it’s like a school skirt. It’s on an adult site, YABU

This is creepy AF. It’s like those Pornhub videos and a lot of this is slowly creeping into mainstream (that Audi ad!).
lioncitygirl · 23/08/2020 21:24

Its about the pattern of the knickers. I mean, its also an adult site.... YABU. Sorry.

KarmaStar · 23/08/2020 21:31

Yabu!why does everyone want a pat on the back for making something out of nothing?Confused

Anordinarymum · 23/08/2020 21:33

Got to say I admire the photoshop skills here, I mean.. aren't we all shaped like that well I am

SignOnTheWindow · 23/08/2020 21:34

I agree op. If people want to role play this sort of thing in private, you can't stop them, but let's not actually legitimise people perving over school girls!

StatementKnickers · 23/08/2020 21:35

YANBU - there are many other names they could have used! Creepy to use "schoolgirl".

NiceGerbil · 23/08/2020 21:35

It's a terrible thing to call them.

YANBU.

SlimGin · 23/08/2020 21:37

YANBU to me. Using 'school girl' kind of condones and normalises fetishising schoolgirls as seen on pornhub etc. They could have just said 'plaid' or 'tartan' or whatever.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 23/08/2020 21:38

YANBU. Schoolgirls are not for fetishizing and perving over.

premiumshoes · 23/08/2020 21:41

I'm surprised anyone thinks this is ok. It's just another not so subtle step towards normalising perverted behaviour and children.

Mycatisthebest · 23/08/2020 21:51

"but let's not actually legitimise people perving over school girls!"

This

blubberball · 23/08/2020 22:07

I've always found it really weird how mainstream and normalised the "sexy school girl" fetish is. Even to the point of themed nights in clubs. Dressing up as a school child is a bit weird to me.

Arthersleep · 23/08/2020 22:08

Yanbu

I think that the whole 'sexy schoolgirl' scenario is morally wrong. Porn sites use girls that look younger and younger, describe them as 'barely legal' and dress them in indecent uniforms, showing them being taken advantage of. This has become normalised. It is wrong because it encourages the sexualisation of teens/children. You were right to complain. If you wished to take it further, you could perhaps tag organisations/charities that help to protect children from sexual exploitation. If adults want to play with themes of domination/submission/authority figures, there are plenty of other options available ( i.e.teachers and ofstead inspectors 😉).

Crispycove · 23/08/2020 22:11

This is grim. Normalising fantasising over schoolgirls is horrible. Look at this thread, women of schoolgirls are defending it. Past the point.

Crispycove · 23/08/2020 22:12

Should have said mothers, not women.

They've been selling "sexy school girl" outfits for generations it's hardly new. You can't blame everything on bloody pornhub.
TheMarzipanDildo · 23/08/2020 22:17

“Got to say I admire the photoshop skills here”

This. Realistic Wink

I’ve always thought school girl fetishising (and how completely acceptable it seems to be!) was rather odd.

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 22:27

I know people play all kinds of role play in private. But by definition schoolgirls are under 18 (and yes I know consent age is 16 in the uk) and as such this garment's name is just plain wrong. Call them tartan sexy backless knickers, but "schoolgirl" to me is just plain wrong as the mother of a teenage daughter.

Did you quote the wrong post? This reply doesn't really fit with my post.

minipie · 23/08/2020 22:32

If a partner wanted me to role play a schoolgirl I’d run a mile.

YANBU OP. Porn’s already “normalised” fancying schoolchildren 🤮 without Lovehoney getting in on the act.

NotSuchASmugMarriedNow1 · 23/08/2020 22:39

YANBU - The word "schoolgirl" doesn't belong anywhere on a sex toy website.

Mrsemcgregor · 23/08/2020 22:39

YANBU but plenty will be along to tell you how uptight you are and how consenting adults can do whatever they want...blah blah blah. Not thinking about the fetishising of children and the sexualising of teenagers. It’s a slippery slope that PIE tried to legitimise in decades gone by, nothing’s really changed and it’s 2020.

dwiz8 · 23/08/2020 22:41

Yabu

Schoolgirl is a commonly searched for role play outfit. They will name their products what people would search for

They are school girl 'pattern' and fit the need of those looking to role play as a school girl

Get a grip OP
