Lovehoney calling open crotch knickers "schoolgirl"?

Was I BU to submit a review to Lovehoney for the name of this product on their site. (Schoolgirl open back knickers) .
I've called them out on this in their review section.
Just appalling that a site like that which is for adults would use such a term. It's the last time I buy anything from them.

YANBU.

Don't MN have a collaboration with Lovehoney?

dwiz8 · 23/08/2020 22:43

@premiumshoes

I'm surprised anyone thinks this is ok. It's just another not so subtle step towards normalising perverted behaviour and children.
Except it's not

School girl 'fantasies' and role play have been around for decades (if not more) it hasn't normalised it in over 50 years so I don't think that's what happening here

LaureBerthaud · 23/08/2020 22:45

Get a grip OP

Oh do sod off. Why should women tolerate the fetishising of school girls?

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 22:46

@dwiz8 I have a firm grip thanks and even been complemented on it. I buy toys from Lovehoney, hence getting one of their almost daily emails. I'm into all kinds of sex play but not fetishising young girls. This is my point.

Correction, I did buy toys from Lovehoney, I'll go elsewhere now.

@dwiz8

Imagine defending this Hmm

NiceGerbil · 23/08/2020 22:46

The fact that so many men fancy secondary age girls is not a good thing, the fact that it's not unusual doesn't make it ok.

That's what 'schoolgirl' role play is about, after all.

DianasLasso · 23/08/2020 22:47

YANBU.

Normalizing perving over schoolgirls is grim.

All the people blathering over "oh it's a common fantasy" should have a look at some of the threads where women discuss their experience of being perved over by adult men back when they were 11, 12, 13 and wearing school uniform. Or of watching it happen to their 11, 12, 13 year old daughters.

Some sexual fantasies are horribly screwed up. This is one of them.

Mrsemcgregor · 23/08/2020 22:47

dwiz8 so because it’s been going on a long time it’s fine to promote the sexualisation of children in school uniforms?

Diverseduvet · 23/08/2020 22:47

What did you end up buying from the site? I think this has come from Japan where it's part of the culture to fetish school girls. The pattern on the material is not a common part of the English girls uniform. Personally I'd find the pants sexy, but then I love it from behind. Shot me

CountFosco · 23/08/2020 22:51

Not appropriate at all to call them schoolgirl pants and definitely worth a letter of complaint. As an asside this sexualisation of schoolgirls is one of the reasons I hate school uniforms with their strict gender rules.

Mammatino · 23/08/2020 22:52

Yanbu we should be past this now. It always makes me think of those really embarrassing comedy shows in the 70’s with grown women dressed as school girls being chased by benny Hill. Sexy school girl outfits have been around for years but then again so has paedophilia.

dwiz8 · 23/08/2020 22:52

Imagine being so ott you think it's unreasonable for a website to name their product something people search for

WrongKindOfFace · 23/08/2020 22:52

It really is grim.

dwiz8 · 23/08/2020 22:53

@Mrsemcgregor

Nope

Might be worth reading what I wrote before making comments though

VashtaNerada · 23/08/2020 22:56

YANBU. Gross.

Totickleamockingbird · 23/08/2020 22:57

@KilljoysDutch
Slavery (even modern day slavery) and human trafficking has also been going on for centuries. Does that make them ok too?
Stop being an apologist.

premiumshoes · 23/08/2020 22:57

You are very much part of the problem.

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 22:58

I just googled schoolgirl knickers and this was the result. Not "open back, easy access" knickers.

I am fed up of my daughter being ogled by men in her school clothes. And so is she. This kind of nomenclature does not help.

Lovehoney calling open crotch knickers "schoolgirl"?

NotDonna · 23/08/2020 22:58

Well done OP!!
It makes me feel sick how posters think it’s ok to perv over school girls.

Totickleamockingbird · 23/08/2020 22:59

Mumsnet
Is it true? Do you work with Lovehoney?

ErrolTheDragon · 23/08/2020 22:59

YANBU.
Fetishising 'schoolgirls' is either directly a child sex abuse fetish, or indirectly the thrill of fantasising about something taboo.
Adults fantasising about sex with underage girls may have been going on for years but it's never been ok.

Bella2020 · 23/08/2020 23:07

This kind of thing (schoolgirl porn etc) is becoming normalised in our culture and it is absolutely wrong. I'm with you, OP. YANBU.

Fromadistance1 · 23/08/2020 23:13

I'm hearing a lot of conversation about this kind of thing and how it's now being normalised. The sad thing is it's been around for a long time. Just look the the carry on films, Britney Spears, etc. If anything we are seeing less of it and it's being pushed only to porn videos and sex toy websites. So when we see it now it feels more shocking now than when we saw it in our tv screens in the 70s, 80s and 90s.

Toontown · 23/08/2020 23:18

Of course it's fucking awful to sexualise teenage (,or younger) girls. Anyone who doesn't agree has been brainwashed washed into accepting this shite.
