Lovehoney calling open crotch knickers "schoolgirl"?

Mxflamingnoravera · 23/08/2020 21:09

Was I BU to submit a review to Lovehoney for the name of this product on their site. (Schoolgirl open back knickers) .
I've called them out on this in their review section.
Just appalling that a site like that which is for adults would use such a term. It's the last time I buy anything from them.

Don't blame love honey for selling the knickers named school girl, blame the people wanting this fantasy and therefore searching for it

No, the fault for selling these knickers lies solely with the seller.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 24/08/2020 11:03

Lovehoney could use many other terms for marketing that would increase their sales as there is a demand

But thankfully there are laws against it to protect children apart from when it comes to school girls that fine only a bit of fun Hmm

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 24/08/2020 11:05

Love honey is selling underwear for use as part of a school girl fantasy. They have named their product to ensure it's sold - as any retailer would

Don't blame love honey for selling the knickers named school girl, blame the people wanting this fantasy and therefore searching for it

Where does this attitude stop?

Can it be racist to sell products?

Can they use the word 'rape' to sell products?

Can they use the word 'incest' to sell products?

If not, why are they allowed to make references to paedophilia to sell products?

@dwiz8 Prudish I am most definitely not. I worry about your attitude when you seem to think that it's ok to sexualise young girls on an ADULT site.

I have spent hundreds of pounds on Lovehoney products, and I have my kinks. But I draw the line at advertising a product as pandering to fantasies of sex with young girls- schoolgirls. This is not kink.

As I said in an earlier post I've now written to Lovehoney outside the review section because you are right I did not buy these appallingly named knickers and am awaiting a reply.

OP posts:
NiceGerbil · 24/08/2020 12:27

Dwiz what's your view on the concept of schoolboy underwear with a hole in the back?

If people (men) want it they can have it, right?

(There may well be such items on more specialist sites, I have no idea).

I'll blame the buyer and the seller, if they're bought by a man and a woman agrees to wear them then I'll blame her complicity too.

EinsteinaGogo · 24/08/2020 15:49

Honestly, it's GRIM 😡🤢😡🤢😡

You're not wrong, OP.

Imagine if there was the equivalent in "schoolboy" 🤢🤢🤢

Except there isn't, is there. Because it's ok to fetishise young girls but not makes.

Obviously we lay blame at the door of those people. The issue here is that LH do not need to cater for them.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 24/08/2020 15:52

I’m with you, op. I personally think anyone acting as children in sex role play is beyond sickening.

Mxflamingnoravera · 24/08/2020 16:16

Lovehoney are "looking into this matter" and will get back to me.

Benjispruce2 · 24/08/2020 16:19

Yanbu. Gross.

LittleGwyneth · 24/08/2020 16:26

People have been acting out school girl fantasies in private for forever - just look at the Colette books from the early 19 hundreds. Those pants have been given that title because they're plaid, which is the traditional fabric of a Catholic school skirt.

Wanting to play that sort of thing in the privacy of your own bedroom is not the first step to founding some sort of pedo ring.

Benjispruce2 · 24/08/2020 16:28

Do you have daughters @LittleGwyneth?

redcarbluecar · 24/08/2020 16:29

YANBU; it’s vile. Would those who think it’s fine be OK with 5 year old girls being fetishised through adult underwear?

NiceGerbil · 24/08/2020 16:30

'Those pants have been given that title because they're plaid, which is the traditional fabric of a Catholic school skirt.'

Oh well in that case it's AOK Smile

I mean we all know what Catholic schoolgirls are like right! (I was one).

NiceGerbil · 24/08/2020 16:31

I'm being said sarcastic in case anyone misses that...

Way too many men who like to have a go at a schoolgirl. Including what the pants with the arse exposed suggest

It's grim. Really grim.

LittleGwyneth · 24/08/2020 16:32

@Benjispruce2 I thought telling people they weren't allowed opinions because they didn't have daughters went out with the ark. I don't have daughters, no, but I do have respect for what adults enjoy as part of their sex life in the privacy of their own home.

@redcarbluecar You can buy adult baby clothing & nappies very easily online, it's a common fantasy for both men and women, and while I personally find it unappealing, it's consenting behaviour between adults and therefore entirely their choice.

LittleGwyneth · 24/08/2020 16:34

So was I. Still occasionally use the uniform!
Benjispruce2 · 24/08/2020 16:34

Shame on you @LittleGwyneth. I have teenage daughters and the thoughts of this being acceptable so that consenting adults can have their sick fun is just sickening. Angry

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 24/08/2020 16:36

'Its been around forever' is no argument at all.

Lots of damaging things have been around forever, that doesn't mean that they are acceptable.

LittleGwyneth · 24/08/2020 16:36

@benjispruce2 - if that's what your daughters' school uniforms look like then you should speak to the PTA. They must be freezing.

littlegwyneth yes I think we all know that lots of people have been doing this in the privacy of their bedrooms for a long time. I don't think there's anybody on here who doesn't know that it's a thing that some people do.

That are plenty of things that people have done in the privacy of their bedrooms that are just plain wrong though. 'Choosing' to do something in private does not always = aok.

Some people make terrible choices. Some men (and women) have just absorbed from our culture that school girls are 'sexy'. It's so ubiquitous that it seems normal and normal feels like harmless.

It's not harmless though. It really isn't.

shwingshwing · 24/08/2020 16:43

@Benjispruce2

I’ve reported you. Sicko.
Reported her for what? Because she offered an explanation that you didn’t like? No guidelines have been broken here apart from by you with your name calling and personal attacks Smile
