For both, a woman and a man...

OP posts:
Shouldbedancingyeah · 06/08/2020 18:07

5’11” for a woman and 6’2” for a man

gogorogo · 06/08/2020 18:08

6 foot 4 for a man

See DB is this height & I consider it very tall. Largely because he's a size 13 foot & foot size generally gets bigger & he really struggles with what shoes he can buy.

kizkiz · 06/08/2020 18:20

I'm 6'7. Anyone less than that is short. Lol
I also have a tall friendship group. All over 6'4

MoreListeningLessChatting · 06/08/2020 18:21

Women over 5'9 and men over 6'

ONS state that average heights are 5'3" for women and 5'9" for men

MoreListeningLessChatting · 06/08/2020 18:22

I visited Mexico last year and everyone seemed very short....

MoreListeningLessChatting · 06/08/2020 18:23

Stats show mexico shorter than the UK

people over 18 years of age, found that the median height was (5'4″) for Mexican males and (5'2″) for females.

That explains why I felt so tall there!

Tisahardlife · 06/08/2020 18:23

Women 5"10+
Men 6"3+

I'm a woman of 6"1 so tall

cautiouscovidity · 06/08/2020 18:26

5'9" or above for a woman
6'2" or above for a man

Treaclepie19 · 06/08/2020 18:27

Im 5ft 6" and my dh is 6ft 2"
So I'd say women 5ft 8" and men over 6ft.

feelingdizzy · 06/08/2020 18:27

I'm 5 '9 and feel tall with women my age and older, although loads of my dd18 friends are this height.
Men over 6'2 as the men in my family are tall ds 16 is 6ft 5 ( again loads of his friends are over 6ft) .

Shmithecat2 · 06/08/2020 18:28

5'10 or over for a woman. 6'2 or over for a man.

Shmithecat2 · 06/08/2020 18:30

I'm 6'2 (was 6'3), and when I read some women of maybe 5'7, 5'8 bemoaning how hard it is being so 'tall', it's almost funny. They haven't got a clue.

Chienloup · 06/08/2020 18:36

5'9" for a woman and 6'2" for a man.
I'm 5'7" and although I'm taller than most of my female friends I don't feel I'm particularly tall.
My dad is 6' which feels pretty average to me, whereas my brother is 6'3" and seems tall.

buttcrackmcheese · 06/08/2020 18:40

I'm 5'11" and people generally consider me tall for a woman. So personally I'd consider a man over 6'1" tall.

Pandacub7 · 06/08/2020 18:50

Woman: 5’6”+
Man: 6‘1”+

thecatsthecats · 06/08/2020 18:52

@JustHereWithMyPopcorn

The average heights for women and men in UK are 5'4" and 5'10" I believe. Most people are saying women over 5'9" they'd consider tall and men over 6'. So they think women are tall when they are 5" taller than average but men are tall at 2" above average. Very odd.
Yes, though I don't think it's down to male ego-stoking necessarily.

Because all the people 5'8" and under - over 75% of women plus some proportion of men (maybe as many as 50% of the population) - would view anyone 5'10" and over as tall, male or female.

So to be a "tall person" you have to be 5'10" or over - even though a 5'7" woman is definitely taller.

I'm 5'9", and I usually come out the same height as all my friends in heels of 3" or more.

Lemonyfuckit · 06/08/2020 18:53

Women 5'7 and over, men 6ft and over.
I'm under 5'2'' though so most people strike me as tall Grin

Women 5ft 6

Men 6ft and up

LST · 06/08/2020 19:05

I'm a woman and I'm bang on 6ft. Anything over 5ft 9 I'd reckon is tall.

Men 6ft 4 +

gogorogo · 06/08/2020 19:56

I think I read people can start shrinking from 30 & women can lose 2" 🤷‍♀️

cantstopsinginglittlebabybum · 06/08/2020 21:35

5ft5 for a woman and 5ft 10 for a man.

blacksax · 06/08/2020 22:32

The OP doesn't appear to be coming back to the thread. How very odd.

Why odd? What if they just wanted other people’s views and no chat? Not the kind of post that needs feedback is it?
chipsandgin · 07/08/2020 00:25

Well I’m 5’11 and according to the website below
I’m 99.543 Percentile, so basically 99.5% of women in the UK are shorter than me.

You can find out exactly what percentage of women in the UK are taller or shorter than you here:

tall.life/height-percentile-calculator-age-country/

so no more speculation required! :)
