Boris Johnson - How many children do you have?

AIBU to think it’s a total joke that, in this year 2020, the man who holds the most senior and influential post in the land (apart from Mr Cummings) AND who has recently become a father again, will not even go so far as to publicly acknowledge how many children he has fathered?

How is it acceptable that his Wikipedia page states - “Children - at least 6.”

He obviously has some kind of silencing injunction out, but why is more not made of this? Does he pay maintenance to his other child / ren or not? Are the CSA not after him?

If he was the subject of some feckless “baby father” MN thread, denying the existence of one or more of his kids, how do we think that thread would go?

More than that, imagine a female PM with a similar Wikipedia profile - “Children - ?” She sound be hauled over the coals and it’s all anyone would ever talk about.

So why does this flaming muppet get away with it and why do we have such low standards for a PM, such as we would not accept within our own families or acquaintances?

@Nevertouchakoala

Why does it matter how many kids he has? Could you imagine a woman in a senior position being questioned on how many kids she had even if she wasn’t in contact with some of them. YABU
Exactly. It would never happen on here. Double standards
Tedgy · 31/05/2020 12:50

If he doesn't give a shit about his own kids, why would he care about yours?

MilkTrayLimeBarrel · 31/05/2020 12:51

@Frannyhy - He was actually very attractive when he was at Oxford - haven't you seen a pic? I have always been a sucker for men with blond hair, though!

lyralalala · 31/05/2020 12:53

It would absolutely happen on here.

Any thread that contains mention of a child living with their father, or even spending more time with them, instantly goes to “Where is the mother? Why does the child not live with her?”

Even when it’s not remotely relevant to the thread.

AllZoomedOut · 31/05/2020 12:54

he is quite short - Michael Gove is taller.

DustyMaiden · 31/05/2020 12:54

It is probably safer for the D.C. that way.

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 13:10

Do you think it is in the best interests of the "missing" child(ren) for the information to be public knowledge?

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 13:10

They are the only one(s) who matter in this.

Notejode · 31/05/2020 13:11

None of your business. Only relevant if you want to use every possible route to attack BJ. However, I think the left and liberals overdid it before the elections and he is the PM. There are many families with 7 plus children that are unable to support them. An outrage for sure.

ShootsFruitAndLeaves · 31/05/2020 13:13

I am not sure if it is helpful to speculating about his childrens' parentage on a parenting site.

TerrapinStation · 31/05/2020 13:15

I'm not a fan or particularly knowledgeble about him - what evidence is there that he doesn't care about his children?

If we don't know who they are how do we know how much he cares?

Fallsballs · 31/05/2020 13:16

It is our business - some people are deliberately missing the point. How a person conducts their private life is a reflection of their real nature imo. Right or left wing.

justasking111 · 31/05/2020 13:17

Seen worse on Jeremy Kyle show.

Mintjulia · 31/05/2020 13:17

Why is it anyone’s business except his, and his family’s?

My employer isn’t allowed to ask if I have children before I am offered a job. The same applies to everyone, or should do.

EnthusiasmIsDisturbed · 31/05/2020 13:19

I’m sure he was also as an adult attractive to some women and since he has been in powerful jobs even more so

I do think he is charismatic, but then so many other world leaders that have inflicted terrible cruelty have been

It’s very interesting the cult of personality its not new it’s been throughout history

Fallsballs · 31/05/2020 13:25

He is the prime minister, it’s not just any job 🙄

janet1267 · 31/05/2020 13:25

I'm no fan of Johnson but he never discusses his children or his family. That has always been the case and he has protected the privacy of all his children, however many there are. We don't know what relationship he has with any of the mothers.

I care about the job he does, not how many children he has. Wikipedia is full of holes anyway so what it says on there is irrelevant.

1forsorrow · 31/05/2020 13:26

What I don’t get is how his childrens’ mothers found him sexually attractive! I know we shouldn't judge but you can't help how you feel and he always strikes me someone who would be a bit sweaty and maybe smelly.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 31/05/2020 13:27

I think it does matter. Prime minister is a job that has expectations of integrity and moral judgement. Personally I think how someone treats their family is important.

A man who thinks it's ok to cheat and lie and have lots of children they don't see, having deserted their mother, has very questionable morals. I wouldn't trust their judgement or be bothered to do what they say.

Boris isn't someone whose opinion I'm interested in for many reasons but his character as shown by his relationships is one small factor.

1forsorrow · 31/05/2020 13:28

Seen worse on Jeremy Kyle show. Well if that qualifies you for the job of PM there must be a hell of a lot of candidates.

ChilliCheese123 · 31/05/2020 13:32

Makes me feel vomitous

Xenia · 31/05/2020 13:33

People can keep things secret if they want and the same issues arise over track and trace. We need to move to much more privacy in society not much less.

PrimeroseHillAnnie · 31/05/2020 13:34

More co-ordinated Political shit stirring , so transparent. There's a long way to the next election and Labour have a mountain to climb to come back from the worst drubbing since 1935, even with Sir Keir Starmers sudden conversion to Brexit. Although quite how he can maintain any sort of credibility in the face of such bare faced hypocracy is staggering. I guess when you've lost the argument all that is left is personal abuse , shouting and targeting a mans privacy and family. Straight out of the Donald Trump playbook. Nice.

Fallsballs · 31/05/2020 13:35

Was thinking, if a woman with a career in politics had 6/7 kids she would have been off work a long time - perhaps too long to be PM. Would it be possible ?

SoupDragon · 31/05/2020 13:35

It is our business - some people are deliberately missing the point

I'm not deliberately missing the point at all, I (and others) simply don't agree with you. It is completely irrelevant how many children he has and may not be in the best interests of the child or the mother. Once he says "oh yes, I have ten children" the speculation as to who they are will start and there will be a media scramble to find out.
