Boris Johnson - How many children do you have?

AIBU to think it’s a total joke that, in this year 2020, the man who holds the most senior and influential post in the land (apart from Mr Cummings) AND who has recently become a father again, will not even go so far as to publicly acknowledge how many children he has fathered?

How is it acceptable that his Wikipedia page states - “Children - at least 6.”

He obviously has some kind of silencing injunction out, but why is more not made of this? Does he pay maintenance to his other child / ren or not? Are the CSA not after him?

If he was the subject of some feckless “baby father” MN thread, denying the existence of one or more of his kids, how do we think that thread would go?

More than that, imagine a female PM with a similar Wikipedia profile - “Children - ?” She sound be hauled over the coals and it’s all anyone would ever talk about.

So why does this flaming muppet get away with it and why do we have such low standards for a PM, such as we would not accept within our own families or acquaintances?

It doesn't matters how many kids he has. It absolutely matters that he refuses to answer the question because it means he has and is behaving badly to the people that should matter most to him. If he behaves like that to his loved ones it means he isn't fit to be PM because he won't give a fuck about anyone else.

I think you’re being a bit short sighted, his kid that’s not spoken about is a sibling to another he acknowledges. As Boris is open about his other children and as this child doesn’t speak publicly I’d bet good money the reason Boris doesn’t talk about it is because the child has asked him not to, because he or she doesn’t wish media attention. They may be deeply private, have mental health issues, disability whatever.

I don’t think this is about his being a twat, I think this is about something deeply private with the child in question and he’s not commenting because it’s in the child’s best interests.

When you’re as famous as Boris is, declaring paternity is not always in the child’s best interests. None of us know if there is a private relationship in place.

What we do know though is the child isn’t talking either, no one is saying Boris is my dad and doesn’t acknowledge me. Which likely tells us this isn’t about denying paternity and more about protecting the child.

The problem I have with what has come out about Johnson's dating history is a continued pattern of irresponsibility. If it were not for his then partner terminating (twice), he might be up to eight children.

It may be that Johnson is an exception, but all men I have met who were responsible for a string of unplanned pregnancies in different women were, at best, flakey. They were people who lived-in-the-moment and took risks. They couldn't or wouldn't think ahead to what would happen if they continued to have sex without contraception. At worst, they they weren't flakey; they simply didn't care, because it was a woman's problem. None were fit for positions of responsibility.

But maybe this is a very small side to Johnson and he is otherwise competent.

That wouldn’t happen - can you imagine the day we’d ever have a female PM who had children by more than one father?

Let alone a female Pm moving her boyfriend into #10 while still technically married to her second husband

I don’t want to know his children’s shoe sizes ffs but I think he should be able to say how many kids he has. It may be that there are injunctions involved and he is able to buy silence.

People seem over invested in his children .Chances are he is involved he's doesn't deny them to the people who matter.

@katienana unfortunately I think it works the other way; only those who can be blackmailed get into power as they can be manipulated from behind the scenes. There is also a rumour going round about the actual paternity of young Wilfred which is not as portrayed.

I think it's a joke that the main opposition have elected as leader three men who live within a mile and a half of each other.

Maybe if we hadn't we wouldn't have to have as leader someone who is as morally objectable as Johnson.

Feckless only applies to someone who doesn't support his children, yet continues to have more. I doubt that any of his kids rely on state aid. I don't have a problem with people who have lots of kids, provided I don't have to pay for them.

I don't see any criticism of female MPs who have kids with more than one father.

His appeal relies on everyone thinking he’s a bumbling, oafish idiot who relates to regular people. Forgetting the fact he’s a standard Eton boy with no experience of real life whatsoever. It obviously worked hence why he’s our PM right now, the working class seemingly love his persona.

Why does it matter how many kids he has? Could you imagine a woman in a senior position being questioned on how many kids she had even if she wasn’t in contact with some of them. YABU
