...to wonder why these dresses are so sought after?

The dress I'm talking about is the Mill Pool dress, by a brand called Seasalt.

Trying to find a couple of nice summer dresses on eBay. Stumbled across the above dress and liked the look of it (a stripey version; the floral one isn't quite my taste). Placed a bid and was outbid by a mile by about 30 other bidders! This has happened a few times now. They sell for so much money and I'm not sure why?

Probably not an AIBU but I'm curious if anyone knows why these dresses are so sought after? It seems crazy!

there is a link in pink called "fit finder", when you follow it you are asked a series of questions and it suggests a size for you.

Looks frumptastic to me, but might it (like the spotty Zara dress) look better on a normal figure than on the model?

Problem is, I have very brawny shoulders. The fit finder does not ask
about shoulders. I doubt the size it suggests (14) will work for my brawn.

but it's all silly musings anyway. Not least due to Lockdown/enforced WFH, I will have no need to buy clothes for many yrs to come, anyway.

Not keen on the pockets, they make you look like a sack of shit.

I had a Mantaray tunic dress from Debenhams for about €15 in the sale, ideal for beach or around the house.

My wardrobe is about 75% Seasalt.

I live by their Sale shop,when open it is rammed full of stock.

Ladies come for a day out just to visit.

Cannot wait for them to reopen.

Their clothes look like clothes my old English teachers would wear.
Take from that what you will.

Actually I’ve just realised that my outfit today is entirely Seasalt.

I’ve just had a look at their website. They have a chocolate cake recipe - now how can that be all bad?
