AIBU? Neighbours demanding money for McDonald’s

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens. We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

Twooter · 03/05/2020 09:54

What fairy said..

JazzyTheDog · 03/05/2020 09:54

McDonald’s isn’t food 🤢

If the whatsapp group is as vague as this post, I'd say they've had a lucky escape.

Cabinfever10 · 03/05/2020 09:55

I thought McDonald's closed?

Hairdowntohisknees · 03/05/2020 09:55

What is the relevance of you living in detached houses with big gardens?

BirthdayCakes · 03/05/2020 09:55

How Mumsnet has changed

Corrag · 03/05/2020 09:56

Is the size of your gardens relevant to the debate?

YinMnBlue · 03/05/2020 09:56

Oh I want to hear a lot more about the neighbours you can’t talk about, amidst your naice street Wink

But come on, tell us more details about McDonaldsgate.

CurtainWitcher · 03/05/2020 09:56

Did you post too soon? You haven't said what the issue is?

McDonalds is not food. Yuck.

Starlight1243 · 03/05/2020 09:57

Is McDonalds open who has a street what's app group

PurpleDaisies · 03/05/2020 09:57

Did you order McDonald’s and didn’t pay for it? If not, I don’t get it.

bettybattenburg · 03/05/2020 09:57

Darling you are doing it all wrong, with your calibre of houses surely it should be Fortnum and Mason?

Titsywoo · 03/05/2020 09:57

Sounds like the neighbours you don't want to talk about are the sensible ones

PurpleDaisies · 03/05/2020 09:58

What has the size of everyone’s garden got to do with a McDonald’s order?

VideographybyLouBloom · 03/05/2020 09:58

You sound amazing and I’m so fucking jealous that I don’t live in your street! I wouldn’t make the cut though as my house is only a semi and my garden is medium sized.

Kastanien · 03/05/2020 09:58

How can we tell is YANBU if we don't know what the issue is?

Titsywoo · 03/05/2020 09:59

Apparently we have a street WhatsApp. Im not on it. Hang on OP, where do you live... ? Grin

SachaStark · 03/05/2020 09:59

@PurpleDaisies, the bigger your garden, the more McNuggets needed to pave it, I guess?

Carolduckingbaskin · 03/05/2020 09:59

“I live in a million pound house. Am considering buying a Dyson but have had a falling out with my mil”. Relevant info - I’m on Facebook but don’t have a twitter account. Aibu?

dementedpixie · 03/05/2020 10:00

Have they planned on ordering takeaway McDonalds for everyone but you dont want any so wont pay?

Pelleas · 03/05/2020 10:01

Just tell them you don't eat that revolting, overpriced muck so you won't be partaking.

lynzpynz · 03/05/2020 10:01

If you've not bought the food yet and this is planned for next week, message the chat and just say "we are stepping out of the planned McDonald's as it's not worth falling out over. Hope you enjoy yours and look forward to seeing you soon" .

TitianaTitsling · 03/05/2020 10:02

I love these threads! Just disappointed it's not an 'estate' op lives on, the last thread like this the difference in the usage of what an 'estate' is was so interesting!

DesignedForLife · 03/05/2020 10:02

You are group buying McDonald’s? YABU. It’ll be cold and soggy before anyone gets it.
