AIBU? Neighbours demanding money for McDonald’s

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens. We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

I saved hard to buy my forever home, it's detached house in a quiet street, has a nice garden too. But my neighbours are all arseholes, they bring down the tone by ordering in giant boxes of McDonalds and now they are arguing over paying for the chips that came with a meal deal.

@Taddda good news - they are ubereats. Bad news - you have to have at least one of the following to be part of the WhatsApp group...

• chintz curtains
• avocado bathroom suite
• a basin in the shape of a scallop
• a plate rack with a collection of plates sitting on it/and or a glass cabinet full of crystal animal knickknacks.

Firstly, thanks for all the sarcastic replies. If you don’t have anything nice to say, then do not say it.

I’m proud of what we have and we have worked very hard to be where we are now. YES it’s a detached house and YES it wasn’t far off seven figures, but that’s the area we live in and we have worked hard for it. Not that it has anything to do with any of you anyway!

My DH told me that when McD’s open they won’t be selling burgers - only nuggets. I wonder if he was lying?

How old are you and all your neighbours OP? Getting into a fight over McDonald's, I've heard it all now. I expect the missing neighbours are jolly glad they're not in your previous group.

Wimpys are usually found in service stations now I believe. You used to get your burgers served on actual plates with cutlery in the 80s.

I know the problem now. You can't afford to join in the group buy even from the 99p menu because you have a crippling mortgage that means you cannot afford anything other than value beans and rice.

It's a shame people started on about the OP's description of her house. Because I think finding out why her DH objected and more about the left out family, would have made a nice change.
