AIBU? Neighbours demanding money for McDonald’s

We live in quite a small but nice street, mainly detached with decent sized gardens. We have a whatsapp group that the whole street is on, barring one family LOL. But we won’t talk about them.

Anyway, DH is the one who reads the group most often and has now got into a massive fight with the neighbours over a group-buy of McDonalds food next week.

Would you have a group McDonald's if you lived in a semi or would you have to go down to a terrace?
What about a semi but no garden?

I’m in a detached with a small garden. Where do I stand?

I wouldn’t be interested anyway as we heard yesterday that when they do reopen, milkshakes won’t be available (not unusual even in pre-COVID times).

Well it's obvious, people in big houses with big gardens don't eat big macs. Maybe if it was a cheeky nando's the row wouldn't have occurred.

I never really understand the snobbery around McDonald’s. It is what it is - food created to be made quickly and eaten easily.

Our local McDonald's cant even get the order right when you are stood in front of them, I dress to think what would turn up if I trusted them with takeaway. I really want a veggie burger now though.

FYI lots of Wimpy restaurants are still open for collection /delivery so if McDonalds is causing neighbour issues, switch it up to a retro 80s burger and all problems will be solved!

I know all the houses, except for the non WhatsApp family, have garages and drives and yet some f*** has parked ON THE STREET.
Perhaps they have chosen to eat their Big Mac in the car and not in their rather large, well presented garden.
Please come back op and enlighten us.

I’m still not over my drive thru experience just before lockdown when they didn’t hear the word Grand and I got a normal Big Mac .... distressed doesn’t even begin to cover it

This is an AMAZING flex. Our local (it's far too local) Macdonald's is closed and my teenagers are bereft, lol

If you have a naice detached house with a big garden, lets hope that group macdonalds day is on Friday.

you can go and get your own on thursday, and show it off by taking it out to your drive while you're all clapping.

It’s the people in large blocks of flats I feel sorry for... McDonald’s orders to large that everyone ends up with cold chips. I do believe however that those in bungalows are excluded from WhatsApp groups completely.

I live in a gated close of 8 detached houses. Admittedly our gardens are small but we do have en-suite bathrooms. I can’t get excited about McDs reopening because a) they aren’t doing breakfasts and b) they’ve discontinued the Dairy Milk McFlurry.

McDonalds is closed uk wide and has no plans to open up yet.

Your weird WhatsApp group is the problem. Leave. Don't have a big LOL at someone for not being part of it. They are doing it right. Nobody needs to be told they are part of a group McDonald's purchase. Equally nobody needs to argue about it.
