Couple doing the tango in finsbury park

I'm staying in. My family are staying in and elderly relatives really suffering with depression and loneliness but still following guidelines. I'm exercising by walking the dog early morning around the block. I.e streets close to my house. I don't need a park or a beach. I certainly dont need to dance the tango in finsbury park. AIBU to be disgusted in people and their clear disregard for others safety. I cant believe their behaviour.

Well, they are excercising

chockaholic72 · 12/04/2020 20:32

They probably live together and don’t have the room to do it in the house/flat/shoebox! It’s exercise, the same as walking around the block. And it’s good for their mental health. I don’t see what your problem is.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 12/04/2020 20:33

They’re ducks that just want to show off. I know we’ll get the ‘but they’re just exercising’ but I don’t buy it. I’d also be pissed off that they’re going to be covering a wide area, while dancing and making it more difficult for those trying to pass by.

babychange12 · 12/04/2020 20:33

Maybe they don't have space to dance in their flat? Tbh reading the title of the thread, I was expecting something completely different Grin

Suzanne12 · 12/04/2020 20:33

It's exercise, I don't see how they are breaking the rules.

Apolloanddaphne · 12/04/2020 20:33

I'm not sure what the issue is. They are out getting exercise in the fresh air. They aren't near anyone else. Maybe they love to dance but don't have room at home.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 12/04/2020 20:33

And of they live near it's a local exercise. To to ensure it's properly adhering to guidelines they should tango all the way there and back too....

I am for proper stay at home and stuff. I am. But if they are local...

Mydogatemypurse · 12/04/2020 20:34

Why cant they walk round the block for their exercise. If their house is too small to dance they should do another dance or a you tube exercise.

If they are one household, it’s OK. They are exercising. I see someone practising ballroom dancing solo in my local park quite often.

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 12/04/2020 20:35

I think you’re being very grumpy and that there is nothing they are doing that breaks any rules.

Ilovethekittehs · 12/04/2020 20:35

Oh they're actually doing this tango, sure

oncemorewithfeeling99 · 12/04/2020 20:35

Why should they conform to the most joyless form of exercise for no particular reason!

SquashedSpring · 12/04/2020 20:35

If they're local, why is it any different from walking or running or cycling in the park?

BlueJava · 12/04/2020 20:36

They probably live together, I don't see what's wrong with it. Personally I just make sure my immediate family are sticking to the rules, and helping my parents (v elderly) isolate. Everyone else - well I'd like it if they stuck to the rules - but I just get on with my life and don't worry.

spanieleyes · 12/04/2020 20:36

Why is dancing any different to walking or running?

Boshmama · 12/04/2020 20:37

Are you finding isolation hard? Nothing wrong with this - maybe try focussing on other things.

EricaNernie · 12/04/2020 20:37

you are being a killjoy op, i am disappointed there is no actual video.

MereDintofPandiculation · 12/04/2020 20:37

They're breaking the most fundamental law of the lockdown - they're enjoying themselves. Don't they realise, It's not a holiday. The only things you are allowed to do during lockdown are things that make you miserable.

SoftSheen · 12/04/2020 20:37

Assuming that they're from the same household, then good for them!

BigChocFrenzy · 12/04/2020 20:38

They are exercising together - dancing is excellent cardio

Mydogatemypurse · 12/04/2020 20:38

Blue java. Me too but if people are out doing stuff thats unnecessary they could be carriers.

mbosnz · 12/04/2020 20:38

They're trying to eke a little bit of joy out of their existence right now. They're not touching anyone, or anything, it looks like it's very possible for other people to give them a wide berth. If this was when you were exercising, early morning, they were trying to be considerate.

Mydogatemypurse · 12/04/2020 20:39

It's not a holiday.

Stop being a grumpus.

Cherrysoup · 12/04/2020 20:39

YABU, like extremely. Maybe they’re competition dancers, who knows, but frankly, they’re exercising. No different from me playing badminton at school with a key worker child the other day, no different from a child cartwheeling in the park on a family walk.
