Couple doing the tango in finsbury park

I'm staying in. My family are staying in and elderly relatives really suffering with depression and loneliness but still following guidelines. I'm exercising by walking the dog early morning around the block. I.e streets close to my house. I don't need a park or a beach. I certainly dont need to dance the tango in finsbury park. AIBU to be disgusted in people and their clear disregard for others safety. I cant believe their behaviour.

Good for them

derxa · 13/04/2020 12:03

In general I'm a bit of a misery but I can't see anything wrong with this.
A lot better than those hordes of aggressive cyclists and joggers.

irregularegular · 13/04/2020 12:07

I'd just enjoy watching it!

Dancing is a form of exercise. So long as this is near their home and they are being careful not to get in anyone's way I see absolutely nothing wrong with it at all. Some people seem to think the rule is you have to be miserable!

Katinski · 13/04/2020 12:09

doing an actual tango? Well, I got that wrongBlushGrin

MojoMoon · 13/04/2020 13:03

@Hannah021 two little kids and their dad were kicking a ball around in the middle of a grassy area and no one, mounted police included, seemed bothered by that. Might be different if there were 15 years olds playing five aside but they were just kicking and running after it and around.

Hotcuppatea · 13/04/2020 13:05

Get a fucking grip OP.

Sparklesocks · 13/04/2020 13:09

Honestly I can’t imagine having the effort to give even half a shit about what people are doing as long as they’re staying away from others. I know people are bored on lockdown but there are so many other things you can do rather than quietly seething at anyone doing anything other than eating gruel and jogging.

MotherofDinosaurs · 13/04/2020 14:06

Theres two types of people in this lockdown. The first type seek joy and find ways to make it fun. The second are the fun sponges who don't have the imagination to make fun within the rules.
In fairness I do appreciate it's much harder for some than others and am fully grateful for my happy house/garden/husband I get on with/one easy kid. But jeez can't you just watch and enjoy the nice dancing couple and be happy that they're enjoying themselves and providing a bit of entertainment.
It is what you make it...

ElsieDear · 13/04/2020 14:38

Are we not allowed to have fun? Must everyone walk with their heads down while a funeral dirge plays over loud speakers?
You seem really sour.

BigChocFrenzy · 13/04/2020 14:41

Did I miss the rule that you can't enjoy exercise ?

Maybe they could both dance in hair-shirts and flog themselves with whips

BraveGoldie · 13/04/2020 17:30

Anyone has the right to exercise like this, assuming they live together.

On top of that, I am an amateur tango dancer and can tell even from this still photo that they are extremely good - perhaps professional, so I am sure loads of people got pleasure and insight from watching them.... 🙂 I wish I had seen them!

Ethelfleda · 13/04/2020 17:51

For some reason, I thought that ‘Tango’ was going to be a euphemism.
Anyway - YABU.

SugarNyx · 13/04/2020 17:52

That was a disappointing read...

midnightstar66 · 13/04/2020 17:55

It's not like they were sitting about having a picnic and it's very likely something they can't do at home - can't see N issue with this at all assuming they are in the same household

GlummyMcGlummerson · 13/04/2020 18:00

So who fancies starting an Alan Rickman fan club to quell the boredom Grin

JudyCoolibar · 13/04/2020 18:06

Fun police, misery guys, fun sponge. Many an MN poster needs to buy a thesaurus once the shops open again. At least be a little original in the playground name calling.

Ah, when in a seriously weak position, attack the way the messages disagreeing with you are framed. Terribly well known tactic, MouthBreathingRage, but it never works.
