Just that really. He was last seen running towards a London tube station, statement then comes out that he has symptoms (sure everyone else on that carriage were pleased) and we’ve heard fuck all since.

Has he realised his Rasputin days are over and legged it?

Wot? Something with a label with actual French in it? Do you think I'm made of money?

He can get bladdered on White Lightning, like everyone else!

I don't actually agree that Sunak should become leader of his party or a Prime Minister, because I don't think he's had a chance to demonstrate the qualities needed.

But I think that in terms of mere public image, he's in currently in a very good place to have a go at mounting a bid for leadership one day.

OverUnderSidewaysDown · 09/04/2020 14:08

Send him a van load of Corona beer.

PotholeParadise · 09/04/2020 14:12

Yes! Corona lager it is.

Frownette · 09/04/2020 14:16

We know how to spoil him.

He might never leave that armchair with any luck

  1. Question - Where is DC?

Hm, let me see. Has anyone checked the dungeons at Chillingham Castle and/or that castle his in-laws own(ed) in Ireland?! It was the way he was scurrying away from Downing Street like Peter Pettigrew in Harry Potter after they announced Boris was ill that I hope made a few people see his true colours. See 3.

  1. I am sorry he lost his uncle.
  1. Did anyone else notice the point at which they REALLY started getting all panicky was when the penny dropped that COVID-19 didn't only affect the old/poor/darker-skinned after all, and that this was something ALL their money and old school ties couldn't protect them from? I do hope Boris gets better. But I also hope, when he is better, he realises that flogging the NHS lock, stock, and barrel to the US is NOT the way forward. A very, very, very cynical part of me can't help feeling that's at least part of the thinking behind their having written off the NHS debt all of a sudden.
  1. I'm not a Tory (massive massive understatement there, and slightly amused in a dark sort of way that they're now having to implement sort of socialist-ish policies in some areas) but I think Sunak is coming across incredibly well. You know, in an accountant-y sort of way. Agree that he will never be PM though for all the reasons given above.

@Alsohuman me too! I actually really wanted to see Sajid do well when he first appeared on the political scene. He seemed such a balanced person. However, he didn't thrive in the jobs he was given. I'm glad we have Rishi in charge rather than him. Thank god he resigned.

WatcherintheRye · 09/04/2020 14:24

It wasn't just the Mitford sisters and Mosley who were admirers.

I thought it was Unity Mitford who had a thing for Hitler? And Diana did marry Mosley. But I didn't think the other 4 were supporters of Hitler, especially not Jessica, who was a communist.

ThePlantsitter · 09/04/2020 14:39

People think Diane Abbott is thick because she is black and they are racist.

People think Priti Patel is thick because she says things that make her sound thick.

People think Dominic Cummings is a nefarious bastard because his colleagues have told us so - oh, and because he was happy to let a portion of the country die but was arrogant enough not to think he'd be in that portion.

MockersxxxxxxxSocialDistancing · 09/04/2020 14:52

People rightly regard Cummings as a wankstain because he is a priviliged product of wealth and advantage who rails against 'the elite.'

Plus he is a scruffy git lording it over professionally-dressed public servants exercising power without responsibility, what Baldwin called the perogative of the harlot.

Plus we are in the dark about his security clearance, or otherwise, in the light of his Russian connections, and his known heavy drinking.

I apologise unreservedly to semen everywhere.

Frownette · 09/04/2020 15:05

I didn't actually know he was a heavy drinker; I thought he was more affiliated to Russia than the UK though, ideologically and behaviourally.

@EmpressMcSchnozzle I agree with a lot of what you said, it's horrifying that they thought they were somehow immune to COVID-19 due to background/position. I hope as well it stops the NHS being 'americanised'

flippityflobberty · 09/04/2020 15:06

Am happy to piss in a bottle and pop that in the post.

PotholeParadise · 09/04/2020 15:16

Seamen? Who brought the Royal Navy into this?
I'm not shelling out for him to have rum!

Peregrina · 09/04/2020 15:24

Agreed Jessica Mitford was a communist and didn't support Hitler. The others are a prime example of smartly rewriting their histories as best they could, which Unity and Diana couldn't do very easily.

I admit, I have just read a particularly waspish biography of them.

@flippityflobberty first one of the day should be nice & tangy Grin

longwayoff · 09/04/2020 16:03

I hope the No 10 civil servants are laughing their bloody heads off, what with being so unnecessary and all.Wine to them.

VegetableMunge · 09/04/2020 16:20

They'd need hearts of stone not to at least giggle.

ArthurDentsSpaceTowel · 09/04/2020 16:20

Flippity I very much doubt he'll be able to tell the difference as a lack of taste and smell can be one of the symptoms.

Although I suspect in Cummings' case lack of taste is congenital.

University of Essex provides offers for 67.3% of undergraduate applicants, Keele provides offers for 75.2% of undergraduate applicants

A high offer rate doesn't reflect the quality or otherwise. Durham and Warwick offer places to over 70% of those who apply, while Exeter offers places to 87.6% of applicants. Bristol and Cardiff are 68% and 71% and Birmingham is 73%. Sheffield Uni is 79%.
