Re the clapping /dancing /shining it's all a load of bollocks and I am a midwife in NHS. The first clap yes very nice but not required every week.

I think most parents will give around of applause when this is all over and kids are back at school

For the love of god, stop the madness! I work for the NHS. The first clap for the NHS was nice and lots of us found it very touching, but it absolutely shouldn’t be a weekly thing - all it reminds most of us of is how many times we’ll have to hear it before this whole shit show is over.

As to clapping for kids, no fucking chance. They’re being asked to sit at home and build Lego and read a book for 6 weeks, not join the Battle of the bloody Somme. I have a kid, and quite frankly, like most 3 year olds, he’s being an utter arsehole about most of this. What am I clapping for?

My kids are bloody delighted to have an extended holiday from school. Not sure they need a clap for it. Mind you I am a cynical old fucker and I think the clapping is a load of old BS for all groups we are now supposed to be out for.
