For those that can't get delivery slots.

Maybe the next step is telling people the delivery date / time for their area rather than letting them pick - it’s got to be quicker to deliver to 5 houses in a local area than driving back and forth all the time.

Apolloanddaphne · 23/03/2020 16:00

I'm hoping there is more than one lot of meat. We shall soon see.

goodwinter · 23/03/2020 16:00

Sorry I'm confused - they deliver these to you, but it doesn't require a delivery slot? This might be explained somewhere on the website, but I can't see it...

YeahRiiiiight · 23/03/2020 16:00

Thank you so much! Just ordered one for my friend who is having chemo and fretting about having to go out for supplies Flowers

hoolydooly · 23/03/2020 16:01

That's so nice of you to share that info. Thank you Flowers

QuillBill · 23/03/2020 16:02

Can't wait to hear what's inside one now!

YeahRiiiiight · 23/03/2020 16:02

It says on the website that DPD will contact you on the day with a two hour delivery slot between 8am-8pm and will also leave in a safe place if you’re not in. The pack comes in an insulated bag.

EveryDayIsADuvetDay · 23/03/2020 16:04

A colleague said she called Ocado, and has been given a priority delivery slot. She is a regular online customer, as can't shop easily at the best of times - I don't know if that makes her more of a priority for them.

DianaT1969 · 23/03/2020 16:05

Thank you OP. Really good idea. A box including wine and tonic would fly of the shelves 😁

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 16:05

@goodwinter you still need to book a delivery slot for the box (I believe). It's for those that can't get a full shop delivery slot, it's a bare essentials box, with no choice. You get what you're given essentially.

You're all more than welcome. I posted it for those that needed it and I'm glad it got to those that did. It's good to hear 💐

bobstersmum - Please let us know what you get, and if it's worth it (and by that, I mean if it means you don't have to go to the shops to top it up, not just monetary value).

Shame they don't offer a "pet box" for dogs/cats.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 16:06

Oh @DianaT1969 I'd order that 🍸

Good idea

CatChant · 23/03/2020 16:08

Thank you for posting that @DamnYouAutoCarrot.

It is nice to have one less thing to worry about.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 16:08

@SchadenfreudePersonified if you're struggling for pet food, try amazon prime now (if you have amazon prime).

I'm hoping there is more than one lot of meat

It says bacon, sausage and cooked meat, plus fresh meat like chicken or beef.

It's only designed to serve two adults, so a chicken will do at least two days. And there's the sausages. Most people wouldn't eat meat every day anyway, so I'm sure there will be enough. It's supposed to make the most of what they have plenty of, to ensure that people have at least some basics in, that's all.

WorraLiberty · 23/03/2020 16:13

I pay for a monthly delivery pass.

I wonder if that would cover these boxes, as it says £5 of the £35 is for delivery.

Dollywilde · 23/03/2020 16:13

Thank you! I'm pregnant and while I can get to the shops I would really rather not be out mixing with others if I can avoid it. Have booked a box for Wednesday and I'm actually hoping to have some random bits in there so I can have some fun with cooking - got to fill the time somehow!

ifIwerenotanandroid · 23/03/2020 16:15

How does this work? I registered with Morrison's, went through the whole process & then got told there are no delivery slots for your address - even though they knew my postcode at the outset! (We have stores about 20 minutes away.)

Then I tried C&C & there's no store less than an hour away that does it.

BruceAndNosh · 23/03/2020 16:17

It sounds like a much more efficient way of doing deliveries for morrisons. Much quicker to pick, might even be automated.
Most people would rather have a box like this rather than not delivery at all

Hippopotas · 23/03/2020 16:18

Thanks for posting this I’ve sent the link to my at risk mum.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 23/03/2020 16:21

@ifIwerenotanandroid I'm not sure. I haven't ordered one, maybe someone who has can help? It looks like it's dpd that deliver the actual boxes, not Morrisons.

Apolloanddaphne · 23/03/2020 16:21

I don't need a delivery slot as there are three of us at home and none of us are really going out. I think they are assuming many people are home right now.

mrsjg · 23/03/2020 16:23

Good idea

Marieo · 23/03/2020 16:26

Placemarking as I don't need one but want to see what people get!
