For those that can't get delivery slots.

@MyDcAreMarvel I don't think that there's limits on how often you can order, so you could order 2 at a time 2 times a week to give enough food for a family of 8 for a week.

If 2 boxes feed 4 people for 7 days, then 2 boxes will feed 8 people for 3-4 days, then reorder for the rest of the week.

This is a bloody good idea from Morrison's and should stop anyone worrying about literally starving. You might not get your favourite items, you might need to come up with some imaginative meals/food combinations, but at least you will be able to feed your family, and that's the purpose of this scheme.

Comefromaway · 23/03/2020 17:30

Scrub that. They don’t deliver to us either. But at least the in laws are sorted.

NettleTea · 23/03/2020 17:32

aaagggh my payment keeps being declined. tried 3 different cards now. dont know whats going on

RainRainGoAway2020 · 23/03/2020 17:33

Excellent thanks for sharing. I have ordered one for my mum who is panicking that every time she goes to the shops the shelves are virtually empty. She has no way of getting to a big supermarket so is relying on local Coop's and Tesco locals. This should help a lot.

Dixiechickonhols · 23/03/2020 17:38

Thank you. Ordered one for my over 70 mum.

Thepeabody · 23/03/2020 17:42

Ah wonderful. Have ordered one for the weekend for my vulnerable parents who live 1.5hrs away. Thanks so much op.

diddl · 23/03/2020 17:42

Good idea.

I've been thinking that supermarkets will be the only contact for a lot of people & any way to avoid is a good thing.

Might be handy if there was also some of these available to collect-as it would still mean less people wandering around the supermarket.

Olinguito · 23/03/2020 17:48

Thank you so much OP, I was getting quite worried about getting basics.

1forsorrow · 23/03/2020 17:49

Thank you DamnYouAutoCarrot. I do have stuff in the cupboard but have been worried about getting some fresh stuff, even if this doesn't look alot if I top it up with storecupboard stuff it will be a great help. I've been and done a shop as I felt I had to so I've done an order for next Monday, it will stop me worrying over the weekend.

I was lucky today, went to the co-op and it was empty so I didn't feel I was at much risk. Self Isolating isn't much fun if you haven't got food.

TheGlaikitRambler · 23/03/2020 17:51

Thank you, I have ordered one for Sat (earliest I could get).

JemimaPuddleCat · 23/03/2020 17:52

@JusgeRinderIsNotaJudge

You are not managing to eat every day? That is not good. Have you specifically told your colleague that you are short of food? Do you have anyone else you can call on for help?

TheReelSlimShady · 23/03/2020 17:53

Fantastic, and hopefully this means some of the others are doing the same, and they will become available at stores as well.

Going to send this to my mum.

ShesGotBetteDavisEyes · 23/03/2020 17:59

I’m sure it’s already been mentioned on here but another option is local milkman delivery. We’ve managed to get a weekly order with them (I suspect we were quite lucky though as first two we rang couldn’t take on any more orders). But he does all dairy products as well as potatoes, meat, farm produce etc.

We were really surprised when we Googled it how many milkmen there are covering the area. Our in-laws are getting a delivery too which is a bit of a weight off our minds.

We plan to carry on using him after this is all over, we are so grateful!

Coffeenofilter · 23/03/2020 18:04

@81Byerley that's good to know, thanks! There's one in the next town over. (I'm not quite as isolated as being on an island, though it feels like it right now...!)

twosoups1972 · 23/03/2020 18:04

Such a great idea, thanks for posting! I might give it a try.

PerkingFaintly · 23/03/2020 18:05

JemimaPuddleCat, I hope JusgeRinderIsNotaJudge meant, taking it in turns with the colleague to get food in for each other.

HollowTalk · 23/03/2020 18:13

Be careful with milkman deliveries - my sister said near her (Scotland) people are stealing milk from doorsteps.

Alsohuman · 23/03/2020 18:14

This is such a great idea. Thank you so much for sharing it, OP.

JemimaPuddleCat · 23/03/2020 18:17

@PerkingFaintly

Oh, just reread. I hope that is what she means 🤞

@HollowTalk

Where in Scotland? It's a big place 😉

Scout2016 · 23/03/2020 18:30

Thank you OP. This will ge a big help to my family.

Placemarking to see what people get in them

mariwhee · 23/03/2020 18:42

These are brilliant, I was beginning to panic about where to get some food from since there's no delivery slots anywhere and I'm not allowed out to shops due to self-isolating.

JusgeRinderIsNotaJudge · 23/03/2020 18:51

@JemimaPuddleCat yeah I meant we're taking it turns to cook at work. So I didn't have to cook for me tonight. I have been going to work hungry because I've been worried about running out of food but now I've got one of those boxes and DH got some bread earlier today so tomorrow we can have some toast. It's amazing what a difference a warm food makes. I've been so busy at work I didn't even really notice the food supply dwindling until we nearly ran out

liquoriceallsortfamily · 23/03/2020 18:53

Thank you. Just ordered one xxx
