Had any of the people who didn't get their boxes had a DPD confirmation that their order was on the way (or just the original Morrison's order confirmation)? I've had a DPD message re tomorrow's delivery so was wondering if that made it more likely it would turn up?

StarbucksSmarterSister · 29/03/2020 15:46

I had confirmation only from Morrisons but with a link that took me to the parcel tracking page on DPD (which said they hadn't received it). ..

I've now received another one for Tuesday after I chased when it didn't arrive.

Danglingmod · 29/03/2020 15:53

Thanks, Starbucks.

cannotmakemymindup · 29/03/2020 16:01

Thank you for telling us about them one of my friends ordered this week and was so grateful as they didn't have any fresh vegetables/fruit in her home as they'd been isolating. Plus obviously all the meat, ham and cheese. So so good!!

lozster · 29/03/2020 21:40

I got mine today. I’d say it is just about ok. Maybe £20-25 of goods. I guess the £10 difference is justified in postage and packing (just?). There were 4 Iceland K’s with it and a huge amount of insulation. I’m assuming I can use the ice packs again. It will help my family of 3 avoid the shops for a few more days but it wouldn’t feed 2 of us for a week. Hopelessly optimistic that! So, conclusion for me on the veggie one is just about satisfied!

Blooming autocorrect Iceland K’s are ice packs!

MiniatureRed · 29/03/2020 22:02

Still keeping an eye out for slots. My mum could do with anything really.

diege · 30/03/2020 10:25

Very similar (veggie) box to Lozster - around £22 I've estimated so they're making a tidy profit and won't feed our family of 7 for long 😩 BUT it means I don't have to shop for a few days which helps a lot as a single parent Smile

Horrible to read the churlish posts.

They are trying. They offer something that will help many people. I doubt very much they are making a huge profit, if any. They would lose so much future business if they were making ridiculous profits.

Saucery · 30/03/2020 10:39

They will have had to source the packaging etc which they don’t usually have to do and suppliers of that will be inundated with orders too I should imagine.
I thought it was quite reasonable for £35 and DPD left the box outside as requested. I assume they just take a photo of the note they ask you to put on the door as proof of delivery.

TheShoesa · 30/03/2020 10:49

I was very pleased to see that Morrisons were doing these as I have a veggie teenage boy. Since they launched I haven't been able to get a delivery box booked.

I told a local friend about them and explained the issue with lack of delivery slots and while she was on the phone to me she got on their website and booked one straightaway! I logged on at the same time and it said no deliveries available. I have tried every day multiple times for the last week to get one ordered and it always comes up with no deliveries available for the boxes. I am going to have to brave the supermarket, and with asthmatic children I would prefer not to.

TheShoesa · 30/03/2020 10:55

Not meaning to sound off about it btw, it's a great idea. But while I totally accept that there is a limit to the number of these that can be delivered, it was more than a little disheartening to hear my friend placing her order first try at the same time as the site was saying there were no slots available for me.

SarahInAccounts · 30/03/2020 10:57

Been trying all weekend. No slots.

DoyouthinkIcare · 30/03/2020 11:04

@lozter

How could that not feed 2 people for a week? How much do you eat? I guess some chocolate would be welcome but otherwise it looks like more than enough

ArriettyJones · 30/03/2020 11:07

Sheesh @SunshineCake

It’s not “churlish” to have an opinion on whether something ( that you’ve essentially bought blind) is good value or not.

It’s Morrison’s, not the Red Cross.

As it happens, I thought our (meat) box was okay for value and great for efficiency, but I can see why other people might differ.

SunshineCake · 30/03/2020 12:54

I think it is churlish as Morrison's are doing the best they can in difficult and unusual times.

Comefromaway · 30/03/2020 13:55

It will feed us for over a week with just the addition of eggs, yoghurt, cereal and some fruit from elsewhere.

TwoZeroTwoZero · 30/03/2020 14:10

Ours came this morning just after 9a.m. and it is good value for money in my opinion. We got the vegetarian one and in it was:
2x packs of Heck vegan sausages (I've taken one to my dad along with some other things)
Some beans
Spaghetti hoops
Tomato soup
Veg soup
Dried pasta
Pasta sauce
Quorn mince
Quorn pieces
4 pack of loo roll
2 pack of kitchen roll
Some other things that I've forgotten. There was quite a lot for £35 incl. delivery.

cornishdreams1 · 30/03/2020 15:16

Boxes are available again!

chocolateisavegetable · 30/03/2020 15:34

You are a bright shiny Star cornish - got one for Friday!

TheShoesa · 30/03/2020 15:41

Not for me Sad

I rang a local company with an order earlier and they said they'd ring back for payment details but didn't.

We won't starve, but there are 5 of us and the cupboard is looking distinctly bare

SarahInAccounts · 30/03/2020 17:04

Nor for me.

Danglingmod · 30/03/2020 17:28

Keep trying. I just got one for next week. Had one today and they are really good value. Just no fresh fruit but we have some tinned in.

Talia99 · 30/03/2020 17:43

I just checked and for the first time I could have ordered one. I didn’t because all I need is milk and I can get that by itself elsewhere but at least I know I can (all previous attempts have got the ‘no slots’ notification.

chocatoo · 30/03/2020 17:57

My mum and dad received theirs today. We organised it as we live miles away and I wanted to save my brother (who is being brilliant) from doing their shopping for a bit. He lives closer than us but still not a quick pop round. Mum and Dad are v grateful and feel that it's really good value for what it is (although they usually shop at hideously expensive farm shop or M&S!). It arrived exactly when they said it would and apparently the driver who delivered it was very nice. The only thing Dad sounded slightly sad about was that there were no 'treats' (biscuits/cakes) but that's liveable with! Well done Morrisons for taking the initiative!
