For those that can't get delivery slots.

Just ordered a veggie one now - only delivery date 30th which suits me five!

Kingcole · 28/03/2020 09:36

Still no update and can't get through to Morrisons on the phone. I would be wary ordering.

MiniatureRed · 28/03/2020 10:25

I really want one from my mum (who I don't live anywhere near). I keep refreshing the page throughout the day over the last few days but no luck. She lives alone.

I'm also obsessively on the Ocado website too for the same reason.

Feeling really stressed by it all.

bobstersmum · 28/03/2020 10:43

@KingCole I posted on this thread the other day that this had happened to me, no one responded. I ordered Monday for delivery Wednesday. I did get the confirmation email, but then didn't get anything further from them. Like you, I rang dpd and they didn't have my parcel. I have emailed and rang and still not had anything back. So I won't be trying again because that is shoddy customer service, OK if they realised they couldn't fulfill the order after accepting it, but they should have let me know.

CottonHeadedNinyMuggins · 28/03/2020 13:19

Mine arrived about an hour and half ago, unfortunately the chicken had opened in the packet and leaked all over the stuff in the white bag (the chilled bits) but thankfully I could clean it off and only had to bin the chicken and ham (it had opened at the edge too and had chicken bits on).

AlexaShutUp · 28/03/2020 13:49

I got mine this morning, but unfortunately, they sent me the meat one instead of the vegetarian box that I ordered - not a lot of use for a family of non meat-eaters. Couldn't get hold of anyone on the phone so I have given the meat away and am trying to manage with what we have left in the house. I have emailed them about the mix up, but who knows when they'll get back to me. The rest of the box was ok, but the bread was really squashed and the pasta packet had split so the pasta was loose in the box.

Farheatarse · 28/03/2020 14:07

Thanks for the head up on this. My parents received their box earlier today and are very relieved. It will keep them going for a while.

Great idea, hope other supermarkets follow suit.

DownyBuds · 28/03/2020 15:42

@MiniatureRed More slots have just opened up for me

SunshineCake · 28/03/2020 17:03

I think all the damages are DPDs fault not Morrison's.

Babysharkdoodoodood · 28/03/2020 17:31

I got one! Ordered and sent to my mum to stop her going shopping. Not until 5/4 but her and dad went out a few days ago to get bread and milk despite all of us telling them to stay home.

Sent her the link as well, as she didn't believe they'd get a delivery where they live (Welsh borders)

ShinyMe · 28/03/2020 17:40

My mum got hers today, which I'm really relieved about. She's in the middle of nowhere, 150 miles away from me, and really thought nobody would deliver to her. She now has more meat and loo rolls than I've seen in a month!

MrsDragonLady · 28/03/2020 18:42

I had a look at them, and the added all to contents into my basket on asda. Other than a few subs (4 pints of fresh milk instead of cravendale, 4 chicken breasts instead of 3, a large packet of onions and 4 tins of beans instead of 1) it came to a total of £27.60. Add on the £2 delivery charge and it works out a heck of a lot cheaper than Morrison’s. Just not worth it in my opinion.
People might be better off looking at independent butchers and greengrocers in their towns rather than relying on those long term

Comefromaway · 28/03/2020 19:03

That’s all very well dragon but half the stuff is out of stock at my local Asda, I can’t get a click and collect until a week today (that I reserved a week ago) and I really shouldn’t be out and about traipsing local shops.

Alsohuman · 28/03/2020 19:12

Asda hasn’t got any delivery slots so that’s entirely irrelevant. The whole point of these boxes is to make it easy for people who can’t go out, let alone trail round a series of independent shops. Not that there are any independent grocers where I live.

canigooutyet · 28/03/2020 19:13

I know the value is a bit dire. Doesn't matter, Cannot get one. Same with everywhere else.
Local shops have all closed down.
I thought I had 6 days food in, forgot no school.
Bread hasn't seen in days. Got milk, but no cereal. Pasta is quickly running out, and the flour has gone.

Going traipsing around shops isn't an option. Local ones are closed, others are around a 30-minute walk away. Not that it counts, have cv so cannot go anywhere. And those shops are busy with people closest to them.

As for support from services. We are the wrong type of vulnerable ffs.

ShinyMe · 28/03/2020 19:25

My mum got loads more than in that photo. She got
kitchen roll
loo roll
potatoes
broccoli
carrots
peppers
onions
sausages
mince
chicken breasts
bacon
ham
bread
pasta
pasta sauce
tins of soup and beans and tinned tomatoes

She said there's loads, and definitely enough for two of them for a week, if you're not fussy.

TheGlaikitRambler · 28/03/2020 19:47

Got mine today, same as everyone else for contents and all fine.

stuckinreverse · 28/03/2020 19:47

canigooutyet have you looked at covidmutualaid.org all links back to local community facebook pages where people are pulling together to help each other, there are many local groups in our area providing food parcels for people who are struggling. where are you based?

canigooutyet · 28/03/2020 20:19

Thank you @stuckinreverse I hadn't heard of them.
I have checked local, but will also check the link out. I'm in a part that isn't really residential, so used to things not always open iyswim. A lot of the people who live here have homes elsewhere. It's just a convenient location.

But on the bright side, the nhs side of things is a breeze.

Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit. Just venting frustrations.

doodlyfiddly · 28/03/2020 20:37

Mine was due today. I received a confirmation email when I ordered it on Monday. Heard nothing since and no notification of delivery. Nothing arrived. I've emailed them, but don't expect them to even see it until next week. Not much I can do really as I'm sure they're doing their best.

g1c2d3 · 29/03/2020 11:17

DamnYouAutoCarrot, thank you so much for the info on Morrison’s boxes. We just had ours delivered and are delighted with the contents as we were out of milk and bread and fresh vegetables. I tried to disinfect everything as best as possible. Only the carrot bag was open, everything else was well packed so that helped. I hope more shops start offering something similar soon.

Land0r · 29/03/2020 13:07

DamnYouAutoCarrot I wanted to thank you too as I wouldn't have known about these boxes otherwise. Ours has just arrived (I ordered on the evening of your original post) and has plenty in it.

Very well packed in a box with all the meat in a well insulated bag separately inside the box.

Good communication as to the arrival time and the DPD driver put the box outside, knocked then moved away from the door.

Great work Morrisons!

Scout2016 · 29/03/2020 13:17

@DamnYouAutoCarrot another who wanted to say thanks for posting, I wouldn't have known either. It's helped some if my older and vulnerable relatives who some distance away from me in different towns and are staying in. Will use again (if I can get slots!)

milliememum · 29/03/2020 13:43

Just received our box, very happy with the contents, well packed and good variety!

captainflash · 29/03/2020 13:48

Mine arrived for my mum and stepdad this morning. It was all in perfect condition and they are so grateful. They are both on the vulnerable list and can’t get a online shop at all.

It took me a good few days- checking randomly at all hours- to get a slot but I’m so glad I did. It’s really helped them out
