For those that can't get delivery slots.

Yes, they are still available but as I have a Tesco delivery hopefully coming on Tuesday haven't ordered one as we have enough to get by until then and I'd rather that someone who was really in need like an old person took priority.

It's very useful if people keep posting if they have been able to get one though as it means everyone subscribed to the thread then gets notification.

I think the slots sold out really quickly earlier in the week because several tabloid newspapers posted links.

ffswhatnext · 27/03/2020 13:43

I’ve been trying for days to get one. I’ve even tried midnight, by the time I can get to the final bit too late. More supermarkets need to look at doing this.
If you cannot go out. Cannot book a delivery for any of the other supermarket. Local shop isn’t delivering then your fucked.

AngelsWithSilverWings · 27/03/2020 13:50

Mine just arrived. I was a bit concerned by the state of the box to be honest. It was all bushes up and partially opened.

The meat was in an insulated bag but the chicken packet had split open , the sausages were also split and partially unwrapped.

The bag of pasta had alai split open and loose all over the bottom of the bag.

Disappointed to be honest but would have been good if it had arrived in a good state.

I'm going to email Morrison's as I can't risk using the chicken or the sausages.

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 27/03/2020 15:39

@AngelsWithSilverWings oh that's really sad that it arrived like that!

@StarbucksSmarterSister any joy with yours?

I got one - miraculously and not quite sure how!
I was quite impressed actually.
The box included:
Loo roll
Kitchen roll
Sausages
Ham
Mince
Cheese
Milk
Spread
Carbonara sauce
Packet of rice - microwaveable
Packet of pasta
Onions
Carrots
Broccoli
Tomato soup
Veggie soup
Chopped tomatoes

And probably more I've forgotten!

Orangecake123 · 27/03/2020 15:57

There was also rice in the veg box- sorry for missing it out!

StarbucksSmarterSister · 27/03/2020 16:48

I managed to get through on the phone and they said they'd check, as DPD said they hadn't received it to send out to me.

I literally just had a message saying I'll get it on Tuesday! Am fuming. I now have to go out and get food. Thank God I can

StarbucksSmarterSister · 27/03/2020 16:52

It's also got a different reference number so they obviously screwed up completely.

ShinyMe · 27/03/2020 17:31

My mum (70s, rural, carer for my disabled dad) has been refreshing the page multiple times a day since Tuesday and has finally got through, and should have a box arriving tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

Katinski · 27/03/2020 18:15

Worth it just for the loo paperGrin

DamnYouAutoCarrot · 27/03/2020 18:54

@StarbucksSmarterSister try amazon prime now before having to go out. They've been a god send for sending food to my relatives.

Oh @ShinyMe that's great they finally got one :)

The boxes seem like good value to me. I managed to get two for elderly neighbours who refused to let me shop for them. They were delighted with them.

Anyone who’s had/ getting a box, what meals are you cooking with the contents? Wondering how best to make it stretch.

milliememum · 27/03/2020 19:09

Am very excited, tried and tried throughout the week to order one of these but no joy, went on today just in case and now expecting delivery on Sunday, yay!!

Kingcole · 27/03/2020 19:51

Still awaiting delivery tonight no DPD update or contact of any kind.

Kingcole · 27/03/2020 20:01

Called DPD and they don't have the parcel! Calling Morrisons but can't get through. It may not be all that simple to get a delivery from them after all!

lozster · 27/03/2020 20:04

I just ordered a veggie one after days of refreshing the page. Due on Sunday.

Kingcole · 27/03/2020 20:22

Still waiting 30mins+ to get through... will try again tomorrow.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 27/03/2020 20:50

DamnYouAutoCarrot

Thanks for the tip.

Kingcole

That's exactly what happened to me.

DeltaFlyer · 28/03/2020 00:06

I've finally managed to order one after being unsuccessful the last few days.
Delivery is the 30th, which is good as we're running out of fresh stuff and isolating.
Dh thinks I'm daft but I'm quite excited by the surprise element

Defenbaker · 28/03/2020 00:18

These food boxes seem great. I followed the link and there was a queue to get on the website, then when I finally got through they were out of stock. I went onto the main web site and registered my details, then tried to search for the food boxes - nothing. Also, on the main website it states minimum order is £40 but the boxes are £35... I'm confused! Has anyone had any luck with ordering one through the normal website? Or are the boxes only available through the seperate link?

I was hoping to buy a box for my elderly MIL, and expected to have to wait a few days for the delivery, but they seem nigh on impossible to order.

ArriettyJones · 28/03/2020 00:23

I ordered one 3 or 4 days ago for delivery this Sunday.

I have not heard from either Morrison’s or DPD. No email or text. Not even an order confirmation.

Anyone experienced the same?

chocolateisavegetable · 28/03/2020 00:30

It's a different link - www.morrisons.com/food-boxes/

Although none available (here anyway)

Defenbaker · 28/03/2020 00:57

Update - just tried the link again and struck lucky! Smile They were only offering delivery for one day - Monday 30th March. So, I took the slot and ordered one for MIL, that will take the pressure off a bit, as she is self isolating due to being vulnerable.

We do get shopping for her, but we are both have sore throats, so are very conscious we need to keep a distance from her (and everyone else) just in case. We are trying to only shop once a week, as the less contact we have with others, the better, but it is tricky as you can't always get everything you need, when shelves are empty.

MIL is very good at making basic supplies go a long way, and not a fussy eater, so this will ensure she has the basics, in case we can't get over to her.
